Most all types of bulletin board forums can get invaded sometimes.
Perhaps all they have to do is sign up.
I NEVER even saw the offending thread.
Unless it's still there, then I'm just blind...

I was gonna say what Robert Helgeson said. I know there were many reasons we went to the new software and I understand that it HAD to be done, but some here were using THIS as one of the justifications. Looks like THAT one was off the mark.

At the guy next to me using the urinal ?

I feel like you are just trying to keep me from joining the illuminati and bringing
back lost love spells. Why you trying to keep me down ? 🤔

Hey Steve J!
You said "Don't look", so I wondered if I should look or not? Then noticed your name and figured I should take the chance. After reading here, I went and looked at the thread list. I feel the need to point out that "moneypower" is the online name placing these posts. I found eight of them on my quick look, and I did NOT open any of them! Thank you for the "heads up". And people, know the thread title does not say "moneypower", however, the thread titles are suspicious in their wording. They seem to mention things like "regaining" your power or other things.
Thanks Steve J!

Their aim is to post the links on a highly rated, highly visited website (like this one). Doing this triggers part of the search engine's algorithims and places the spammers links and website higher in the rankings.
Funny you should say that... I posted a couple hours ago saying pretty much the same thing and the post disappeared.

The spammer doesn't care who does or does not click on the links.

Their aim is to post the links on a highly rated, highly visited website (like this one). Doing this triggers part of the search engine's algorithims and places the spammers links and website higher in the rankings.

The best and most effective way to combat these is to remove them asap.

I thought the new forum would take care of this problem. I know I needed to sign up then wait for an admin to ok me to post. Maybe I'm wrong about this. Dunno......

Good point, Steve. With two exceptions, the number of people who have looked at the posts is in the single digits, so people appear instinctively to be following your suggestion.

Oh, did I just bump this back up to the top? Silly me! :D

I wonder if he has anything to do with that porno spammer that keeps flooding my inbox

I'm glad nobody so far has replied to the Moneypower posts. I suggest we not even look at them. The motivation for such posts begins with the supposition that many people will see them. Let's thwart that.
