Yes, it is a brake light switch.

A "Morganmade" switch produced by the Morgan Manufacturing Company here in Keene, New Hampshire.
Their slogan was "If it is Morganmade, it is well made."

Hi Tom,

The hole in the plunger is to allow a short length of chain to be attached to the plunger and the other end secured to one of the bell's mounting screws.
This feature provides a means to prevent the plunger from coming out of the bell and being lost.

Re: Model T Shipping Crate

It really is important to properly secure and protect any package. A rebuilt short block was shipped from the left coast to me, here in The Shire. Rips and tears in the plastic roused my suspicion. 102_2789a.jpg The block was secured to a modest "pallet" of boards with another board taped to the to...

I have nothing to add to this discussion other than the following pictures of the Canadian Rim Tool, pictures which I culled from the interweb some years ago.

Re: A look at the Model T Museum

Lenny Smith (R.I.P.) donated that snowmobile to the museum. When he acquired it there was no strap. After a few years of use, the cab became just a tad rickety. The ratchet strap was an expedient method of (literally) keeping it together. Aside from the occasional repairs and necessary maintenance,...

I think that Erik Johnson has it right; that the term "Torpedo" was used somewhat broadly to refer to runabouts and touring cars which had a body with a lower profile and lower seating than "regular" body styles.

The Metz Company called my 1914 Model 22 a Torpedo Runabout.

Hi Miles, In most cases I have used them dry with success. In the past, if I suspected that the felt might need some help to seal properly, I would rub the felt with soap. Now, I reach for my tube of Aviation Fuel-Proof Lube and anoint the felt with a smidge of that. Note of Caution: When applying ...

The felt does not leak and I have been able to reuse it.

One day, when I didn't have bigger fish to fry, these two openings spoke to me. A couple of smallish pieces of felt sheet were slit and the two pieces were placed together with the slits at ninety degree angles. I used some light duty mechanics wire (easily formed) to "sew" them together around the...

Hi Dick, The enclosed cars came from the factory with carpet. The open cars had rubber mats. Although Ford sold the enclosed cars with carpet only, they DID offer...
