Re: Model T Old Wives Tales

Here is my Old Wives tale. When my wife rides in my 27 roadster I have a passenger side airbag! Good thing she doesn't read this forum. Oh, and how about setting the coil points with a thin dime? Remember when dimes were silver and wore down? Or fixing the babbitt on a rod with a piece of your...

Re: Model T Snowmobiles

Paul,

Thanks for the post. Let's build a snowmobile for the Mile High Club. I used to have modern snowmobiles. I'd love to show up in Grand Lake, CO with a Model T snowmobile. Yellowstone would also be a blast in the Winter.

Re: STOLEN 1915 MODEL T in Enclosed trailer

Still no leads on the 1915 Model T Roadster and Trailer that was stolen in the Golden, Colorado area at the beginning of Dec. 2020. The photos at the top of this thread are current. The engine, radiator and hood had been removed for repairs. The car could be easily identified by the ruckstell, inlin...

Re: 1915 Roadster - Stolen in Early December 2020

Thanks, I helped his daughters with pictures I had of the vehicle. I've been watching Craigslist but haven't seen anything. The vehicle and trailer would be very easy to identify. I think the overdrive is from a Rambler. IT is inline and not a Warford.

1915 Roadster - Stolen in Early December 2020

A 1915 Roadster and enclosed trailer was stolen in the Golden, CO area in early December 2020. The car had many identifying features. McLaren wheels, ruckstell, overdrive and was missing the engine, radiator and hood. The trailer was an uncommon Teal color. The thieves just drove off with the traile...

Re: Seeking Back Issues of Vintage Ford

I can help you with Vol 17 #6. I also have the complete set of Vol 18 from 1983 and the complete set of Vol 37 from 2002. I hate to break up Volume 18 and Vol 37. How does $30 plus shipping sound for 13 magazines?

Re: Model T Shop Mule Tractor

I know you posted this almost a year ago, but I just saw it. We have a Model T Mule in our Mile High Model T Ford Club. The member who owns it is Gail Dins. Gail acquired it after the longtime owner, Bob Baston, passed away about 5 years ago. The mule is called "Little Eva," after Bob's wife. I'm no...

Re: I am 14 and I bought a 1926 T. Now what?...

I picked up my Model T with my dad when I was 9. That was 59 years ago! I still remember sitting in the passenger seat and seeing the street below because there were no floor boards. We pulled the car home with my dad's 1940 Ford pickup. By the the way, you are not supposed to pull a Model T. It is ...

Re: Rear Spring U-bolts

Let's add another variable to this. What if you have a 26-27 Touring or Sedan with a (goose neck) spare tire carrier? I have heard that the spring hanger bars are half as thick as the other models in order to screw the nut above the hole to insert the cotter key. I believe the order on a 26-27 Touri...

Re: Three to One Gears

I have three to one gears with a ruckstel in my 27 roadster and I put 100 miles on it in the Colorado mountains on Saturday. I gained 2,700 feet from my house in Arvada to Conifer, CO 8,277 ft. I had to use ruckstel on the steep grades, but my car will pull them at 30 - 35 mph in high gear low rucks...

Last time I bought PVC primer and glue it came in a metal can. I took the brush off and it fit on my running board utility cans for gas, oil and water. Give it a try!

Auto Theft - Signal System Key?

Does anyone know if the keys fit all units? I have a really nice lock with no key. I took it to a locksmith and they kept it for 2 weeks and said they couldn't pick the lock or make a key. They were Millinials. Anyone with wisdom know where I can get a key or have one made?

Re: OLD PHOTO - Down home

I can relate to what you are saying about a library burning down when someone dies. My grandmother was born in 1899 and I would sit around for hours and ask her questions about the old days. I think that is why I am so enamored with the 20s. My parents were born in the mid 20s and rode in their fath...

Re: What have you done with your T in March?

I fixed the muffler with a spot weld on the center threaded bolt, reasembled and placed it back on tailpipe. I broke it last Oct. going over the dirt and rocky 11,200 ft. Cordova pass in Southern Colorado. Charged the battery, jacked up a back wheel, as the 30 wt oil and 37 temp.,made for slow crank...

Identify This Part - Model T?

Can anyone identify these 4 parts, the year and if they are Model T? They are 2.75 inches long not counting the threads. They are black now but have some brass plating underneath. I think they might be prop nuts for a top.

Re: Pan Straightening Table

Thanks for all the information. I had no idea they could cost that much. I'll just use the services of a member of the club that has one. As long as I don't break another crank I should be good for a while.
