My dad, Doug Eastwood is in this movie. That's him driving the 1903 Model A at about the 12 minute mark. The very early 1909's had that odd rivet layout on the fender brackets The very early 1909 rear fenders had the brackets centered in the fender. Later in 1909 the rear fender irons were changed, this lead to a change in the location of the brackets on the fender. Later 1909 & all 1910 rear fenders h...

Eary 1909 Towncar, vintage photo
I thought this was interesting
This appears to be an early 1909, with the squared off front fenders & the early, brass trimmed, covered wooden running boards .

Re: T #2
The car is listed in the 1909 California DMV records as being owned by A. Lantz, Colton Calif. which is what the second owner told my dad . The second owner owned a Ford dealership " Banta & Smith" in Colton & took the car in on trade in 1918. He kept the car at the dealership. When he retired he mo...

As far as provenance, model T #714 that my family once owned has a complete know history.
A. Lantz from Colton Calif was the first owner.
My dad was the third owner.
Los Angeles County Museum, that now owns the car is the 6th owner.

Re: 1908/09 Model T
When I was at Ben Snyders with my dad, examining #220 when he first acquired it , he pointed out an original 1909 touring car rear body section he had. That is what he used to replace #220's missing rear seat section. I know others claim that #220 was a " mess", that is just not true . Ben asked my ...

the car in the "1966" photo with the fellow holding the hood open is not #220 I don't know what car it is, but I can tell you that it is not # 220 ! I saw #220 as it was, as a survivor. It always appeared as it does in the other pictures. It was never in the condition of the car pictured in the "196...

I saw # 220 at Ben Snyder's place when he first acquired it .
The rear seat & seat riser were missing, other than that it was very complete & original.
These pictures show how it appeared when Ben bought it .

the 1911 " torpedo " has unique frame to firewall mounting brackets .
It has two mounting holes to the dash & it is offset 2 inches to the rear where it mounts to the frame,
as the torpedo hood is 2 inches longer .

Richard ,
why not press the gear off , install the parts & press the gear back on ?
Then you wouldn't need to machine the whole axle .

The brackets you show are for the rear seat .
The brackets for the front seat are a simple " L " version & do not have the " zig zag " on the lower leg .

Lindly Bothwell had a Model K .
He had a fire at his ranch in the early1950's and several of his cars burned , including his model K .
I wonder if Nelson Holmwood may have rebuilt it into this roadster .

Like the change gears in a Quick change rear end ?
