Re: Generator not charging
Honestly, there are so many things that can go awry inside that generator it's crazy. It's quite easy to take out of the car. To fully inspect it, you really need to do so. Once it's out, you can jump your 6v battery to it and see if it turns like a motor. If not, then something is broken inside. If...

Re: Model T Voltage Regulators and Diode cutouts now Available
How is it going? Well... I'm now completely out of non-script regulators and my supply of Ford Script cutout tops is dwindling.... I've shipped about 75 of them. I'm still looking for the super-sized stash someone, somewhere has of old Ford cutouts. There has to be someone out there who has a bunch...

Re: Starter conversion
Yup, I've done a sh$&load of 12v starter conversions. Pushing 50 of them now. It's not an easy task by any means, but if you have patience and skill, you can get the job done. If you do try it, save yourself the hassle and start with a new set of field coils and a new starter post and new brushes. R...

I got one a few years ago in a big purchase of 5 cars, all disassembled. I had no idea what it was until another forum member pointed it out. It sold for $750 in "fair" condition within about 20 min of posting it for sale. Grab the one from Craigslist if it's still available!!

One solid bet that you can always count on: The post office is almost always late and their tracking is most often a suggestion at best… Isn’t it nice to have at least one set of certainties is in the world you can always count on? Question: Would a battery disconnect switch cause any problems? Well, what about disconnecting the battery with switch while the car is running? As John stated, this is inherent in the design and was a purposeful consideration. Our exhaustive, collective testing of this design over the past 2 years...

Voltage Regulators NOW SHIPPING!
Its been a very long road but a final BIG push this week and 3 helpers made it all come together. Building the base of the regulator can and all that entailed was quite challenging. So many obstacles had to be overcome I lost count. The first batch of 50 units goes to the Post Office TOMORROW. What ...

update: All cutout enclosure parts are cut, formed, and the Zinc/chromate plating is finished using the Caswell Plating kit for the first batch of 50 cutout enclosures. I just mailed off 450 additional sets of bases, generator and battery tabs to be Zinc plated by a commercial outfit in MI. I'd be h...

Re: In-line fuse in Model T charging systems
Dan I see your fuse is easy to access. So is mine. Why do so many people state you should put the fuse down by the starter switch? Does it really matter as long as a fuse in installed in the yellow wire? Thank you. Some folks simply don't want to see it. This is why I recommend installing it on the...

Re: In-line fuse in Model T charging systems
Ha! Even John Regan recommended it back in 2008... "Some have argued that a fuse is a bad idea since if it blows - the generator may get toasted along with the lights but think about it - HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY BE BETTER OFF if a fuse rated at 25 amps needed to blow because there was more than 25 am...

Here's what my inline fuse looks like. 5 minute install. If your power for the car comes off of the starter foot switch, install it there instead. 6BAF7DD3-4A74-425B-9528-7314E6DC8081.jpeg 6B84FF85-3FCC-4831-A7DB-E63F73CE5076.jpeg I'm providing one with every Voltage Regulator I sell. In-line fuse in Model T charging systems
Yup, this is a debate started by yours truly. All opinions and experiences offered should be considered. After having my car almost burn to the ground due to a short in the electrical system, I proffer here that it's more advantageous to have an inline fuse located at the battery in your T than not....

I've rebuilt 100+ generations and not seen this condition manifested before, or at least it's been so long ago I've forgotten it. Follow me here: It's motoring, that means the magnetic field generation is working, so both the armature and field windings are functioning to some degree. With no 3rd br...
