Re: Anyone heading to Luray?
It's possible the rubber hose that comes with the filter may have some additives leaching out and causing the filter to plug up.

Re: Anyone heading to Luray?
1926 Ford Tudor with 500 miles on rebuilt engine and every thing else. I had been running with out a paper fuel filter down stream of the sediment bowl and decided to upgrade from a lawn mower filter to a auto type filter from local auto parts store. After installing in line filter I had engine runn...

Re: Brakes - Rocky Mountain versus original rear drum brakes
I have only used the emergency brake once since kids playing started to run across the road in a residual area, so I have changed my route to avoid where there is a lot of children. The one incident has triggered this investigation for additional braking capability and I use engine braking all the t...

Re: Brakes - Rocky Mountain versus original rear drum brakes
Thanks for all the comments it gives me things to investigate more than I have at this time. I did forget to ask about the brake band material in the transmission if that impacts braking or it's more of a wear issue. My bands are cotton and would expect the wear may not be as good as Kevlar, but dri...

Brakes - Rocky Mountain versus original rear drum brakes
Seeking comments on upgrading braking system. In speaking too other T owners I hear Rocky Mountain is preferred except for braking in reverse and heavy rain is a possible issue. So I see there is a conversion to use the conventional rear drum brake with shoes inside the drum which may shield from wa...

Re: High compression heads - 26 Tudor
Thanks for the additional information on gear ratio, will need to investigate Ruckstell or changing out ring and pinion. Will need to review the options.
Thanks again for the additional feed back on gear ratio and what options I need to pursue. Since I'm retired that gives me something to do.

Re: High compression heads - 26 Tudor
Thanks for all of the replies, it's all ways helpful to get feed back.
The ring and pinion is 3 - 1 ratio. This was my fathers car and he had purchased the ring gear years ago before he passed away.

High compression heads - 26 Tudor
As we venture out in the T we are seeing more hilly ground and with four adults inside we slow down to a point for a bird to land on light cross bar and relieved it's self. Current compression hot or cold is around 65 PSI with standard head and is it worth switching over to a high compression head? ...

Re: Carburetor leaks fuel when sitting on angle (engine off)
Thanks for the quick replies and her is more information based on questions received; 1. Front end angle of incline is 5-8 degrees. Vehicle is not leaning and forcing it to either side doesn't impact the leakage flow. The fuel is coming from a hole on the back side of the casting just above the flan...

Carburetor leaks fuel when sitting on angle (engine off)
26 Tudor with Holley NH carburetor. It has the modern style shut off instead of the typical needle valve shut off. Other than the casting all components are new. I have checked float level and its where it should be and will shut off when I raise the float manually. Is there something I'm over looki...

Alan and Mike, Thanks for your input on eliminating the foam and going with a padding that won't crumble over time do to heat exposure, I have received the same input from others. 26 Tudor top Vinyl installation
Down to the last step in drying in our T by attaching vinyl cloth. The kit I have came with long grain material and a 1/4" thick foam pad that goes on top of the slats covered with a canvas material. My question is how far do you extend the foam over the crest of the wood frame, do you not extend it...

Mark; Thanks for the quick response. My garage is heated and the heat outlet blows directly on the roof area. Long Grain fabric installation
Seeking a sanity check on attaching long grain fabric to 26 Tudor wood roof frame. Don't want to do this twice. 1. Is it best to use a tack strip or just nail directly to frame and add hidem over it? 2. Fold fabric over it self to create double thickness with or without tack strip and cover with hid...

Clutch adjustment - slipping
Just getting 26 Tudor on the road and observed two things when in high gear, slippage going up slight grade and during throttle down it continues to roll freely. In referencing the model T service manual it discusses adjusting the three fingers screws to obtain a 13/16" gap between clutch shift and ...

Sorry to hear about your accident , glad you weren't hurt. As for the fenders you can buy new ones for around $550 via most of the Model T suppliers listed in Model T suppliers. I bought two for my 26 Tudor from Snyder's a few years ago and they needed some minor adjustments. My wife was sandwiched ...

Re: Interior panel metal clips - 26 Tudor door & side panel
Thanks for the reply about no lube, I had to ask. I have had some success on one door panel by using a small block of wood over the clip and hitting it with a rubber mallet.
Take care and thanks for response.

Seeking some input on the wire metal clips that you attach to the door and side panels to secure to body. Is it recommended to lubricate them for installation into the body metal? Re: What have you done to your T in October?
Working on hood for 26 Tudor and ran across some odd items regarding the center pivot which is the hanger rod to the cowl and radiator shield. It has a split steel tube pressed in to hold both halves together and they took a 3/8" bolt and cut the head off and ground the threads to form a taper like ...

Looking for a right side door for 26 Model T Tudor, I understand a 28-29 Model A truck door is the same for 26-27 Tudor. I spoke with Snyder's and a new door is $1,350, not cheap but may be only option if I can't find a used one hat can be reworked.

Re: What have you done to your T in August
Been installing window glass in 26 Tudor and prepping to purchase interior kit. I have seen video with roof wood frame off to attach headliner, but don't quite understand how headliner is attached at the header of the windshield since there is no wood there. Am I missing something?
