Got the rear doors aligned buy tweeking the hinges for proper gap, and shimming the bed to remove a slight twist. The door mechanism is still hard to operate. Will work on that.

Finally got the screen sides and canopy done. The original door mechanism needs some fine tuning. Probably did not work that well when new.

Geo, Steve is going to post some pics of his original canopy top. I also have some pics of one other original canopy top,.......some where. Like I said above, I just followed the same pattern as what is in my roof.

Purchased wood several weeks ago, White Ash, as what is used for the C Cab roof. Followed same pattern as the cab for the Canopy Top, as what little wood I did get with the screen sides, not enough for patterns.

I guess chicken wire would have made the top smooth rather than wavey. I am getting ready to build a canopy top for my express bed with screen sides. I do believe i will apply chicken wire to the top. First, a layer of black fabric, then wire, then thin padding, then top material.

Did the T's and TT's use chicken wire in their roofs ???

Reminds me of a "Poker Run" I put on when living in NC. One of the stops was at Cemetery to pick a card and answer a question.
"How many people are dead and buried in this Cemetery?" One couple were a little late getting back,.....but they probably had the right answer. I had to give that one to them.

This is a complete assembly (less bolts) for a TT Truck. Lid is a reproduction with the stand-offs spot welded in the lid. Will accept a standard 6V battery. Other hardware and bottom are also reproduction. $195.00 plus the ride.

Just what you see. I have a extra set I can measure the springs. $40.00 ea. plus shipping.

These header plates are 3/8 thick, cut for 1 5/8 and 1 3/4 pipe. $125.00 each plus shipping.

Here is another issue. The reproduction lid measures 7 1/2 X 9 1/16, the original lid is 7 5/8 X 9 1/2. The box measurements were posted on this forum long time ago were 7 1/2 X 9 3/8. As you can see below, a reproduction lid will not fit a box made to those measurements. Reproduction lid on the left.

Here is a couple pics of a reproduction lid. In the first one, the impression is not as pronounced in a original. In the second pic there is a metal strip jogged and spotwelded to the lid. This takes the place of the handles or the plywood spacer otherwise used. This was a better idea for sure as lo...

Working on building the top wood, and I will soon have a set of reproduction screen sides for sale.

I have a top frame, will have it at Maricopa Swap Meet.

Here's one I have, a little different, same principle.

Here is what I did to mine. A small pulley on the motor and the belt around the flywheel.

I made a bunch of them several years ago just like in the thread above. Just the bottoms, not the tops. If I have any left, I will send you a email.

I have one that looks like it's NOS and it measures .3150. That is 8.00 MM.

Finally finished securing the screens to the door frames and installed the rest of the door latch hardware.

The fit up is complete, one set done, the second set is in work.

When I got mine, it was in a semi trailer. I jacked it up removed one wheel, removed axel key, lubed it real well, wheel back on, and zinco.

Somebody went to all the trouble to cast a duplicate one, and then didn't finish it for whatever reason.

Had these for quite some time, one is original and the other is a fresh casting.

Well,.....the deal was the dealer wanted the jars and lids back, and I would get a refund. The jar and lid is rather rare, I'm told. Who ever put that stuff in them, did not want them opened. The lids were bonded with what looked like JB weld, but was very silvery in color. Nor heat or cold or torqu...

Picked this up at a flea market several weeks ago. Could not get the lid off,....the jar finally broke. Lucky I did not get cut.

Well, there is only one side lite, and the headlight's rims are different side to side.

It's really interesting to hear of the other uses of this screen as others have commented on. What is still puzzling to me is that big hole in one of the side panels,.....who or what, why and that was not easy to do.
Not much more progress to report as of this date.

That is one of the better Fatman wheels, really gets out of the way when you fold it up, as some others don't.

I finally got all the bits and pieces made for the TT screen sides. The special 3/4 X 3/8 Bar channel finally came in,.....so I[ am now ready to start assembly of the doors and sides.

I pulled the valve cover on my speedster, it has a 30 head, same exact spring, ie wraps, OD and spring dia. No inner spring. Along with all the above inputs,......problem solved.
Now I got to find the push rods.

I seem to have lost or misplaced two of my inner springs for my RAJO head. I have all the outers, VS 698 54-56 Buick, I believe will work, but short 2 on the inners.
Any ideas for the inners, will buy all 8 if needed.

Well, since they started a "Pre-war" area a couple years ago, it started to get better, attracting those vendors to a specific area. Other wise, you had a whole lot of walking to do,( unless you bring a ATV or scooter to ride), while looking at post-war and late model stuff.

Rats,....I was intending to bring a lot of Model T and TT stuff. Guess I will do the one in April

Larry, you need to verify the exact date of manufacture for your car. If it was a Friday or Monday car, that could explain the disparity. If it was assembled after a major holiday,....well that would have definitely contributed to the problem. Or maybe it was just meant to be..... Its only original ...

Larry, yes, but it is bear to weave new wire while still in the frame. Do not get the rock crusher grade as it is probably very difficult to bend with out heating. What is the diameter and mesh of your screens? Are they rusty? Dave, yes the holes are square, but with the screen out of the frame, I c...

Larry, I hear that McMaster-Carr now has quite a selection, not sure if they would work or not. Could not find the correct screen anywhere when I first started this project.

I have those screen sides with the side boards, (since removed). The doors were missing, but I since found them, and a extra side. I also have enough screen panels to reproduce at least two full sets for sale in the future. The frames for the side panels are 3/4 bar channel. The special corner brack...

I put LED Bulbs in my A,T and stock 37 V8. Great investment,........I can now identify what I am about to hit.
