I have seen this problem several times in the past. I take a thread file to the spindle to clean up the threads. A helical wire brush on the inside threads of the bearing may help as well.

Re: Aluminum Warford Gear Ratio Percentages
Hello Terry, I made up a chart in about in 2004/5 and posted it here some time after that. I pops up again every now and then on this site. Because of the research I did and putting that chart together I decided on 4:1 final gears and I decided on an original Warford over a Ruckstel. I did a similar...

Re: Champion X spark plugs
I believe what he is talking about is how much longer the exposed center electrode is on one plug compared to the other, and thus the difference in the height of the center porcelain below the end of the plug between the two plugs. I am not even close to knowledgeable on spark plug theory, but due t...

Re: Rear shock perch do you know what manufacturer
I would like to thank everyone for the input. I should have posted the dimensions with the first post. The boss is 1-1/2" wide and the bore is 1/2".
They do look allot like the H&D that Mark suggested looking at the information in his link. A very interesting setup.
Thank you,
Terry

Rear shock perch do you know what manufacturer
I found what appear to be perches for a small drum rear axle shock. Does anyone know who the manufacturer was?

Re: What is the vacuum test telling me?
What really stands out to me is your other posts that I believe may be related to this issue and the 2500 miles on the new engine. Some replies imply valves, and I tend to agree it should be the first place you look. The post prior to me writing this suggests it may be weak or broken valve springs. ...

Re: Ideas to remove starter front bushing
The front shaft bushing is the brush end bushing. The easy way to pull it is a 9/16" course tap. Just thread the bushing with the tap and let the end of the tap seat against the blind hole, keep turning and it will pull the bushing right out whether it is babbitt or brass.

Re: No high gear after changing bands and cams.
Hello Ignacio, Looking at your photos I can not tell you what is wrong. I am going to make some assumptions and try to help you understand how the transmission works and to trouble shoot the problem. I believe the transmission was working correctly before you removed the hogs head. Based on this cur...

Re: Kevlar-ing along when the nut dropped into nether regions.
I did that once, missed a hole with the rags and the nut found it. Found nut at drain hole (no magnets). I used a long piece of mechanics wire, bent it into a U shape, ran one end of the u-wire through the middle of the nut and the other end on the outside of the nut, then I pushed the two ends toge...

Re: Steering Issue Has Me Stumped
Hello John, My guess is the drag link is may be to long, they came in several lengths over the years: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/179374/249044.html?1322077087 I would disconnect the drag link at the pitman arm, center the front wheels, then center the steering wheel and measure the approxi...

Re: 12 volt Question
Hello Lorenzo, As at least one person stated, electrically it is the same and that is true. What is not being factored in is the current draw, power, and heat. Although I may not have accurate numbers, I have numbers that are in the ball park and will illustrate the problem. A starter modified for 1...

I have been reluctant to respond to this post. Cambin's (Cameron's) response promoted me to finally respond as well. His reply is absolutely correct. I was looking for a photo of how I do it this way, but have not found it yet. Your original unmodified diagram is the correct method, not the modified...

Hello Mario,
I looked at your profile and I am going to send you an email and a pm. I would prefer to continue this discussion off line.
At a later date I most likely will make all of the information available to all members though.
Thank you,

Hello Mario,
I had a need for the same tool some years ago. I designed and made one with no knowledge that Stewart made one. I can try to find my CAD drawings and take photo'e of the tool I designed this weekend if you are interested.
