Re: How to tell if the front end is wrong way around?
The first thing to check is that the perchs are on the correct sides the left side has an odd number and the right has an even number. Left #3819, Right #3818. All front end left and right hand parts are odd# for left and even # for right.

Re: Rough acceleration and coughing back through the carb
All the suggestions are good usually spitting back through the carb indicates a lean condition, a lean condition can be traced to a loose carb, loose intake manifold and non tight fitting spark plugs, they are pipe threads and don't seal that well. Additionally a contaminated carb can cause some iss...

Re: "fixing" our wood wheels
The three rivets are not what holds that wheel together. The steel rim is heat shrunk onto the wooden fellow to be tight. Using bolts or screws to falsely secure a loose wheel is very bad idea. Fix it right I don't think Model T wheels were heat shrunk only the big old wagon wheels. There is some o...

Re: What size pipe threads are these?
Another trick I have used in these situations is lead, super clean the male pipe thread and run a bead of solder around the threads. If done right the solder will run around the threads and create a perfect seal. If the first attempt fails it can be reheated and the unwanted solder can be brushed of...

I had developed a miss similar to what you are describing and it was nothing to do with compression nor any lubrication issues, the issue was inside the timer. The paper spacers between the contacts were slightly compressed and barely noticeable, but it was enough to cause the roller skip or jump ov...

Re: A really useful Battery Charger?
For a battery maintainer all you need is .75 amps, 1.5 and 2 amps will boil it dry over time. For charging a dead good battery you can give it 10 - 15 amps for a short time, enough to get going. If a good battery is flat for whatever reason it will take 10 amps for 10 hrs to fully charge it. If a ba...

The early reference material calls for #2 grease this was the middle of the road weight of grease and got the cars rolling down the road. This topic can go on for ever and everybody has their own formula, when Model Ts came out of the factory there was grease in the differentials, they never used any oil. There were no seals to prevent any leakage only dust covers to prevent dust from entering, so each to his/her own. Grease comes in ...

It was mentioned that the spark plugs are tapered, they are pipe threads and almost impossible to have a tight seal. Other model cars use the flat bottom type plugs that seal by bottoming out. T plug threads can be re-machined to to fit a flat bottom plug or inserts are available to accommodate a co...

You could also order a 15 with no horn or headlights, if a later model it would have th...
