Re: Traded in my T

Ha! I had my 1922 model T, thought I wanted an A and got a 1930 and sold the T. That lasted a year and I sold the A and bought back my old Model T!

Help identifying oddball demountable rim

Hi all,

I recently bought a bunch of rims for my car from craigslist, and I had this oddball rim included. It is marked HAYES, and here are the measurements:

Across (length): 24 1/4 inch
Width (outer): 3 1/4 in
Width (inner): 2 3/8 in

Note the clip on the lug as well. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Can someone date an engine for me please

Yeah, I asked a seller for the engine number, that is what they sent me. I think they punched that out and fixed it over the engine where the real stamp would be. Thanks for telling me that’s a body number. I thought it looked strange too

Re: Model T garage saling

I got to reviewing everything I bought today. Turns out every one of the radios have been rebuilt. All the tubes tested and marked, a folded paper schematic in a paper sleeve on the back and all totally rewired. I have one of them playing on AM right now!

Model T garage saling

Went around to a garage sale down the street and picked up an entire T load of 1920s radios. Got the entire lot for $50. deal was “load up” as much as you can in the car! Cash and carry!

Climbed over the windshield because the car was so full!

Re: Child Car Seats, Lets hear how you've installed

I’ve got a 3 year old and 5 year old, and we take the car everyday to our community pool about a mile away. I’ve never taken them on a main road - way too dangerous with idiot drivers. Luckily my neighborhood is small and self contained to about 15 mph on the streets. I compare it to driving around ...

Never follow a link to login, that’s how they got you. They spoofed the site and now had your login credentials. Always verify by logging in from the home site, never follow a link.

Re: 21" tires for a driver

I’ve had those Lucas 21s on my T for about 7 years now. I like em. Only compliant is that they turn brown after a few hours of UV exposure outside. I thought they were all made in Vietnam though, not USA

Re: trade my '28 A coupe for another T?

I had my 22 T, sold it and bought a 1930 Model A. Didn’t like the way the seats hurt and turned around sold it and bought back my T. Of course I had to pay more to get it back! Moral of the story is don’t sell cars just keep them all and build a bigger garage.

Re: Am I right to be upset? Children in old cars

Boy, talk about out of hand, CHARLIE. You’re right, I guess I need to do locked up. This post thread is off the rails with insidious comments such as that. In the meantime, I’ll continue letting the entire neighborhood and families enjoy riding along in the car, along safe and quiet roads, while the...

Lol.

Variable valve timing
Emission controls
Dashboard Totally integrated power modules (TIPM)
Limited slip thrust washers
E85 compliant carbs

The possibilities are endless.

Re: Am I right to be upset? Children in old cars

 My 4 year old daughter sits in my lap all the time and helps drives the car down our quiet neighborhood blvd. cop has come past before and given a wave and smile. Kids bounce around all the time in our car IF it’s in the neighborhood on sides streets. HOWEVER I wouldn’t dream of taking them o...

Re: IR Thermometer Readings on head and radiator

Hey folks- just to clarify. The engine rebuild is about two years old or so- I just haven’t put very many miles on it, I drive it a few times a month, just not far! Maybe a few miles at a time.

IR Thermometer Readings on head and radiator

what are your IR Temperature readings for your cars? I have a newly rebuilt motor, but I suspect my radiator has begun to bite the dust. My timing is ok, carb settings ok, but the motor meter displays pretty hot after a mile or two of driving at low speeds around my neighborhood. My head readings wi...

Re: Have you ever made a stupid mistake?

3 years ago and went to change the old split rim on my touring with a freshly painted rim and new tire. Took it off the car, wheeled it downstairs and started cranking away with the spreader. I forgot to let the air out of the tires and that thing exploded when the rim let go. It blew up with enough...

1926/27 Front Spring Dimensions

hi all, I recently bought a set of front T springs from a swap meet, and I assumed they are 1926/27 because they had 8 leafs. There isn't much in the encyclopedia for measurements, can someone tell me what they measure for spring width and length? Also, these are not drilled for oilers, so I'm not s...
