Brackets are intended to hold parts that are already mated , not as a starting point to build from.

Allan,
That's a beautiful piece. When yours is sold, I will post mine which is useable but not as nice.
For now, if you call it a Robe Rail, the trout might grab the hook.
OT, I took the OF apart, it's really nice inside, thanks.

Re: Stevens Thread Chaser on TBay

Thank you Allan. You are always very helpful. This sale/purchase attests to the fact that affordable prices can be established when it is for a need and not the last dollar. Four hundred is better than no hundred. I have a knurling attachment so, off to the lathe. And to answer your salutation, this...

I am gratefully the new owner of this tool. I waited until it was in my hand before speaking. Thank you Mark for noticing it and letting us know about it. I spoke with the seller and he told me he was cleaning out the attic of a deceased elder relative. The man had worked on cars only when he was yo...

Re: Mag post threads stripped out

Sometimes you can slip a small gauge solid copper wire in the hole leaving a tail hanging out and then run the screw in beside it. Snip the tail off after it's tight. We do that when attaching a temporary block to concrete. Drill the concrete, slide in a piece of rebar wire and nail. The nail will h...

Hello John, If you could put them in a small flat rate box and USPS post it to V1W 2X6, I would be happy to buy them. I have received more than a dozen parts from other members just south of the 49th in the last year. It's just like sending a letter. Please email the cost to me to do the logistics. ...

Re: Stevens Thread Chaser on TBay

I made an offer of $400. He said he would lower the asking price. Then he said eBay would not allow a change so close to bid ending. I waited for an email to buy privately after closing. Then it was relisted immediately after closing. I still need one, but not for a price that is based simply on ava...

Re: RARE TOOL, STEVENS T-181

Hello Glen, I would pay a fair and reasonable price of $400 for it but I don't know how anybody could justify that price for fixing a few wheels or the pride of ownership of a wall ornament. I need one of those to go through about 100 wheels and that is exactly what I need to do it. Hopefully you wo...
