We recently reinstalled our rebuild motor in our T. The rebuilder told me that if you turn the universal so there is a corner at the top, it would be easier. It was a good suggestion, and worked well.
The pictured tool would keep your fingers our of harms way and may be better solution.

If you want to check the valves in #4, you can remove the spark plug to see if the intake or exhaust valves are not working. If the intake valve is not closing, #3 would not give any power as well. Note that the pic showing the screwdriver to hold the flat plate that the stud screws into has 4 or 5 layers of spring. Your spring seems to have 7 or 8 layers. Too much spring?

i think there are two lengths of studs that are used for the installation. You should check that you have the right length as well as the spring measurements too.

In the past, for many years, I drove a Model A and there could be a problem with the condensers failing and even a new one could have a problem. You may want to replace the condenser to see if it could be the problem.

Speedometer gear on metal spoke wheel
We have a 1926 improved touring. We are changing our wooden wheels to the metal spoke wheels. The gear that is attached to the wooden wheel has screws into the wood. Just a suggestion, why not take a bit off 3 sides and bring it down to 1/2 inch with a file or wheel. A little finishing you (others) may never know it wasn't 1/2 inch to begin with.

When we had our motor rebuilt it was installed in the car. Ran great and was started on BAT. All worked well until changing over to MAG. Motor faltered.
