Working on a 26/7 sedan for a friend at the Florida Flywheelers Park, it has an accessory brake system installed, the hand brake lever has no lever spring in the handle, or an accessory spring hooking the pawl control rod and hooked over the end of the cross shaft. Looking for 1926-7 Firewall Photo?

I am looking for a couple photos of a '26-7 firewall with the Wiring & retainers in place. I also would like a photo of the retainers for the timer harness near/at the water outlet on the cylinder head. George

Re: alternator not charging

Many times, the Alternator will overheat causing one of three windings in the Stator to "darken", this will happen on early Alt. conversions with an External cooling fan as that is removed as part of the conversion. Newer Alternators that have been converted for use in a Model T have built in intern...

1923 Touring Car Body Hardware???

Awhile back I bought a '23 Touring Car in pieces, the body sheet metal is currently "farmed out" along with the wood, I need to come up with the hardware for the reassembly. I plan on asking my friends here questions to get me to that goal. For starters the catches for the doors have 4 flat head mac...

Re: Matching dates common?

As I understand it the number on the block (VIN) was stamped after the engine was completed & inventoried, depending on which Branch/Plant assembled the car, it could be weeks away from that number, as the completed engine would be assembled in Detroit & used there or shipped to a Branch. The Encycl...

Re: Issues with Gen cutout

John, Any relativity to the short & your inability to test your non-working coils? That smoking wire may have caused an open in the smaller yellow battery voltage feed wire to the junction block on the firewall. That feed wire starts at the "hot" side of the "foot" starter switch. As Ford never prov...

Re: Help. Only Coils 1 and 4 are firing.

As James indicated the Timer is not the culprit at this time. If none of the Coils would function by grounding any of the top row of terminals with the key turned to battery you do not have any battery voltage or the wire you used was open or not grounded. If you do not have access to a VOM a simply...

I have a NOS aftermarket fiber gear, saving it for my Open Express non generator engine if the need comes about. I will not use in a Model T engine with a generator. Yea I changed a few in my years spinning wrenches in various '60's-'80's inline engines. George

Re: Help. Only Coils 1 and 4 are firing.

John, Roller type timers will create a random wear pattern on the metal timer case contacts. I still would like to see you try to ground out each terminal from the timer wiring at the top 4 terminals of the Coil Box & see if that makes the coils to function, bypassing the timer & wiring. George

Re: Help. Only Coils 1 and 4 are firing.

John, With the Key on (battery) turn the engine if needed until no coils spark, then take a piece of primary wire that is grounded on one end. Now take the other end (with a little insulation stripped off the ends) touch each of the top row of coil box terminals and listen for each one to function. ...
