Retired Dr. and Model T'er celebrates her 100th Birthday
(Overland Park, Ks) Dr. Rosemary Schrepfer (retired OB/Gyn) celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at a local restaurant chauffeured via Model T, of course. Rosemary's maternal Grandmother acquired a '23 Centerdoor in 1925 to haul eggs and milk to market. At age 12 Rosemary was given ...

Re: Why I enjoy the Model T hobby...
I fell hopelessly in love with the T at about age 13. I believe I owe my early affection to it's overall endearing appeal and overall "cute" aestetics. As I learned more and more I became fascenated by all things Model T and the life of Henry Ford himself. At age 66 I finally became the proud owner ...

Re: You Can't Make This Stuff Up.
I was once asked by a lady while filling my '23 with gas: "How many cranks does it take to go a mile". I was speechless.

Re: wood rot treatment
Being a former restorer of wooden boats I'm well versed in treating wood rot. With wooden members that are rotted but still in place I very successfully used a product called "GIT-ROT". Re: What did you do with your T Model in May ?
I was having trouble with high gear not solidly "locking up" so I adjusted my clutch. I gave each of the 3 finger set screws 1/2 turn to the right ( and didn't drop a single cotter pin). Great result!!!

I was filling my tank at a local gas station when I was approached by a friendly lady. She asked me "how many cranks does it take for your car to go a mile?" I was speechless.

Re: What did you do with your T Model in May ?
With schools cancelled and people "sheltering in place" the streets are devoid of the usual traffic. I've taken advantage of the situation by driving some formerly busy streets and absolutely loving every minute. I particularly get a kick out of all the waves and smiles from the folks of all ages ou...

Re: New club member introduction
Welcome Mike. I'm excited for you. I'm an old guy but over the years I've had many muscle cars, Corvettes and Bimmers but none of them are half as fun as my 23. My suggestion is to get her running reliably, make it safe, learn to drive it well and have a blast. This forum is an invaluable resource f...

Re: RATTLE CAN ACRYLIC LACQUER
Thank you Tim. Some questions: did you cut and buff the Model A part you painted using the rattle can base/clear coat? What brand did you use? The results you got in the pictures look super! You said you used a "dash of this stuff" what was the "stuff". I really appreciate your input.
