This is the wire routing on my 27 tudor. 2 clamps on drivers side...wire loom goes up to radiator ...then runs along base of radiator (3 metal tabs on radiator hold wire loom) to right hand side (generator and head lamp)

Go ahead and give the neoprene needle a try.......if it gives you problems it is easy to switch out a different float valve with the carb on the car.

If your float is brass/tin you can submerge it in hot (near boiling) water .....if you see air bubbles coming out of the float it has pinhole(s) and should be sealed or replaced.
