Hershey 2021 Video... FINALY!

After finally driving back to the west coast and to my editing station, this year's video. Nothing fancy here. Twenty-five minutes of clips cobbled together for those of you who couldn't make the journey. Sorry if it's long. I did edit out about 41% of the clips I shot. It's always hard to make thos...

Hershey - Maybe Next Year!

Unfortunately, I was unable to get to Hershey in time to take place in the Meet & Greet. I was privileged, though, to meet Steve Jelf at the car show, standing in front of a 1915 Model T Runabout (imagine that!). I also ran into Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg restorer and historian Randy Ema as he was pee...

Re: Permatex Right Stuff and paint

I've used Dupont's PrepSol on accidental smears of silicone sealant in the past but that was before Right Stuff and Ultra Black as I remember. Not sure if it would make a difference. John's approach on "trimming" works for me.

Re: To all Model t owners a very sad message

Very sad indeed. I met Ed when I got my first T in 1980 when I was 20 years old. He took a liking to me and my friends as there weren't many "younguns" he came across. Yes, he was a character. He would tell us things like, "If you're not sure about something, call me. Don't "F" it up because I don't...

Re: Mother in Law seat

Years ago, on a visit to Harrah's, I was told the seats off to the sides were called chauffeur's seats and were for when the owner didn't want the chauffeur driving anymore and/or wanted to drive himself. These pics are of 2 different 1911 Loziers which could certainly cruise at modern highway speed...

Re: Still Looking to Pay It Forward

Thanks, Gene. I, too, would like to see how the project progresses. I know the program starts back up in the Fall when school begins again. I'm not sure how familiar they are with The Forum but I will mention again how we would all take interest in what they're doing. When friends come to visit up h...

Re: Still Looking to Pay It Forward

Project has been delivered. I was met by Don and several students who were courteous and helpful with unloading everything. This appears to be a great destination for Black Jack. I regret I didn't take any pics while we were unloading but I was pretty bushed after 25 straight hours in the U-Haul (ex...

Re: Still Looking to Pay It Forward

I really need to move this out so a plan is now in place. Tomorrow, I will be renting a UHaul and loading the project in. Wednesday morning I’ll head north to Oregon. Sometime on Thursday I should be pulling into the Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum and meeting Don Blain so we can Pay It ...

I use one of the repops. I also put a trans shaft underneath it. Be sure to true up the flange first.

Re: Still Looking to Pay It Forward

So it looks like we have a taker and Black Jack will live to ride another day! I spoke with Don Blain this weekend and he and his group are very interested in taking the project on for their students at The Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum and completing it as an authentic runabout. We no...

George: Please don’t apologize for being generous. I just wish I had spun the crank on the project a few years earlier when it first came to mind. Still Looking to Pay It Forward

We're Baaaaack... Below is a link to a page of a flyer I made up to bring to local swap meets in the Southern California area, about 6 months before the whole Covid thing hit. Little interest was shown and, well, we all know what's happened since then. Couple it all with a dire family crisis I have ...

1907 Thomas Touring. David's point about being able to afford the restore is valid, though. I guess that means in a best case scenario the barn find should be complete, original, and ready to tour! :o

I will third John’s method. Of course he, Gene, and I, are all Califunny guys so take us for what you think we’re worth. Back when I used to do this fun stuff as my "regular" job, I had a Sunnen Honing Machine and liked finishing off the bushings the way John describes. We’re not talking about using...
