Re: Door panel hardware and window glass
The Window glass removal is a whole nother can of worms. I find it easier to remove the window lifting mechanism first, the window will need to be in the up position at some point to get the mechanism out of the door. 3 or 4 screws hold the mechanism in the door, and there is a clearance hole at the...

Re: Door panel hardware and window glass
The door panel upholstery attaches to the all steel door with clips. not screws. You should have a series of holes with a common spacing around the door sides and bottom. The top of the panel is held in place by the metal trim piece. Originally, the door clips were a 3 piece system consisting of lar...

A "blue wrench" is an oxy acetylene torch. Like Wayne described, just heat the stud from inside the chimney to get a faint dull red color and let air cool. once cool it should unscrew by hand.

Re: Bendix Clatter
Andrew, A clattering noise at the bendix is not normal. One thing you can do to further troubleshoot is to remove the bendix cover and run the starter and see what is happening. Do not run the engine with the bendix cover off as it will gush oil, but you can run the starter for 10-15 seconds. Also l...

Is it made in China or USA? If it is China I would use it until I could find a good used or new USA bearing and replace it.

It has been a thing since at least September, I was unable to order any 30x3.5 driver tires or tubes. And don't be surprised that when they do become available they will cost more.

Re: Ignition Timing Problems.
John, If I understand your original post, sometimes when you turn the key on to start the engine there is no coil buzz so you move the spark lever until it buzzes, and is that an indication of a problem. A coil should buzz only when the engine is in the ignition portion of the power stroke. So, if y...

Re: Headlight rims
Yes it is a problem to remove a headlight rim. In theory you push in and rotate and they are off, realistically it takes 4 hands, one to push and rotate at each rivet. I have had success with a helper so we have 4 hands pushing and turning. The Ford Service Bulletins have a drawing to make a tool th...

Morgan, A few older posts about ordering Blockley tires over the last couple of years if you can find them. I will let someone answer who has done it, since I haven't. I will say that for 21" tires, USA made Firestone tires are excellent. I purchased mine directly from Coker Tire. I did have a probl...

David, Yes there is a drawing with dimensions and you can get it from the Benson Ford Research Center located at the Henry Ford in Dearborn. You will need the factory part number and it will cost you a little. You can go there in person and see it and copy it for free. I do not know about the front ...

Miles,
That is a hook for the side curtain. That little screw is not robust enough to support a mirior in my opinion. I would suggest a clamp-on side mirror.

Re: 1926 split rim valve position
Perhaps to keep an eye on the stem as the rim expands or to prevent someone from shrinking the rim too far.
The rim should only be overlapped a little, the joiner should not go as far as the stem. You still need to coax the tire on the rim with a couple of tire irons.

I picked up my rims from the plater recently and was very pleased with the results. I am usually underwhelmed by some of the businesses that will take on a small job like model T parts, do it in a reasonable time and for a reasonable price. Gone are so many of the small businesses like radiator shop...

Re: Fan pulley rebuild
Tim, A little slop in your fan shaft and bushings may be OK, and as others have stated, too tight a fit is a problem, so you may or may not have an overly worn fan hub. Your issues appear to be self inflicted, your fan belt looks too long which is positioning your fan pulley and belt too close to th...

Re: WTB, 26-27 Bumpers and Front axle perches.
Brian, If the bumpers are for your runabout you should know the Ford rear bumpers use different brackets for different body styles. The runabout and coupe have the spare tire angled forward so sticks out farther away near the bottom, so uses a longer bumper bracket to clear the spare. The split rear...
