Insect (ant) repellent. How that screw delivers it is unknown to me.
Called our local guys about an ant hill next to our pole as the pole was starting to move.
They nudged it back some, re-tamped the dirt and put the screw in the pole. Boom done.

Re: Can anyone identify this brass lever
Bob, I sure hear you about your phone. My has only done a few thousand photos and it is tired of it. It's decided to focus again but yuck... This may get shot down like a clay target but I'd guess it's mostly finished. It's like a throttle lever for a carb with a light spring tower and maybe the lar...

Re: Cleaning the oil line
Thank you sir. You're very kind. Strangely enough, I've never had this transmission cover off so all work was done from right there at the front. I may have never seen the oil line blockage but detective work said it hadn't ran for the last caretaker/rebuilder. I needed to reset cam timing, move the...

Re: Cleaning the oil line
Is it OK to bump this Robert? Looking for timing info to send to an acquaintance tonight, I found this old pic of the 23 engine in the 18. I needed to reset cam timing a few years ago as it was way off and found this nice ball of fuzz sitting in the end of the oil line. Pulled it out and and blew mo...

You saw a good many things on your "flying trip" thru! That 999 display is really neat! Many years ago, a group of us went thru The Henry Ford. The 999 was down on the floor & roped off then. I got down on the floor to better see the very roughly forged crankshaft and the rod grease cups. Close by w...

Interesting and timely too! Excellent thread! Glad you're running again Tom. That Casco is very cool Andrew. Preservatives for wood: A little off topic. Would Flood's Penetrol work as well as Minwax wood hardener? For coil wood. The '18 here had his coil box rebuilt in the mid-late 70's with a plywo...

Stopped at Bob's near Milan some years ago, headed north on 17 or 29 and stopped in. The fella gave this to me. I did buy an OT engine from him tho.

Yikes. I'm not going looking for that. A T? And a 1206 too? I'm more for the building up or making do. I wonder if it's the same bonehead that started his tube career by putting a cement block on the throttle of an RX-7 years ago? The wife wants me to scrap my '53 motor grader due to engine issues. ...

Re: Using just the buzz/points of a model T coil?
Thank you for the thoughts gentlemen. :) If I set a coil alight over time, I'll admit it. I'll watch for heating tho. I wonder how they constructed a buzz points set that didn't over heat back then which baffles me. But the tests were to work the condenser and coil in the armature. Too bad the books...

Above my station? Oh yeah. ;) "What are you trying to do?" Pat, I'm building a magneto armature tester like a Bosch 253 (1928) or similar to what's shown in the Dyke's Encyclopedia. Both have a set of vibrating points for low tension yet neither will divulge more about that. Thanks Poppie! I'll keep...

Using just the buzz/points of a model T coil?
Maybe a dumb question. Can I use a grounded out T coil on a test stand for something else? Grounded out meaning the high tension lead grounded to the commutator terminal. Thinking 6-12 Volts to operate the points. The tests may be several minutes long. All testing is non-destructive meaning the coil...
