Re: Magnet Retainer Plate Level on Flywheel
Many thanks guys! I’ve been reading the forums about the use for not just the magnet side, but the field coil side. I didn’t realize it was able to help calculate the space between the field coil and the magnets [that but figured it had another purpose since it could rotate]. I have at least one wat...

Okay, here’s an update. After not trusting my tool, I went through the process of measuring the total height from the back of the ring gear to the top of the retainer plate. I would think that if you machine the whole face, you would have to disassemble everything, clean, everything to make sure that all of the grindings and shavings are gone, then reassemble it. I've been reading the tons of posts on the forum about setting the brass screws for the magnet retainer plates. Hey Allen, that’s a good point regarding the oncoming drivers. I guess I can give it a try and see what happens. On the bright side (pun intended), I only use the ‘15 during the daytime, so I’d be curious to see if using them as a day-running light will be an issue.

Ruxtel24, I’ll definitely check that! Was working fine before the wire change, but you never can tell!
Hah —>. Great observation! Luckily, I noticed that and put the pin back in! Great catch!!!

Re: Changed Wiring and Problems Running Now
One bright spot is that I’m not getting zapped by anything (and the headlights are still working). Great suggestion as well, John. Thanks!
I think I should make up a grid like a football game pool and put everyone’s name on there. The person in the right square gets a prize! Hahaha

Re: Changed Wiring and Problems Running Now
Many thanks for the comments so far!!! I’m going to try to reply to each: Ruxtel24: I like this suggestion a lot! I can specifically remember making sure each of the nuts for the timing wires at the coil box were tight as well as the nuts for the spark plugs at both end, but I can’t say I definitely...

Changed Wiring and Problems Running Now
Happy Thanksgiving, all! I’ve got a 15 Touring car and decided to replaced the wiring harness and spark plug wires. The existing wires were from ~1977 when my father did a complete tear down restore. The car ran fine before. What I did: I replaced the wiring harness, spark plug wires, and the wire t...
