Darin, First, I would take the hub cap off the passenger wheel, lift it off the ground and see if the wheel is loose on the axle shaft. The DRJH-0 Carter with the Brass bowl is for the 1928 Pontiac. It's very similar to the Chevrolet except the mounting flange's bolt pattern is rotated 90 degrees.

There is a small pin and a spring on the ring that came off the starter gear. Make sure you put them back, and the pin moves easily before you weld the ring on. You can purchase them from the vendors. The purpose is to keep the gear back away from the ring gear after it starts. Good luck, Bill Coyle

Re: Did it again!
Hi Tim, thanks for posting the pics from our trip to Joe's in Tiffin. Thought I'd add the one of you standing next to your car instead of taking the pics! Was a great day.

Re: Cool-A-Ford valve cover accessory information?

Re: Free Start
My thought is "what was happening at the time it broke" was only the final straw which broke the proverbial camel's back. When I Magnafluxed the crankshaft from my '26 roadster's worn out sawmill engine which had been sitting for many years, I found 4 cracks. The other interesting fact was the crank...
