The rule used to be, donations are not taxable. If you charged someone, that is taxable. Hopefully that is still the case.

Learned that from a clown who made master balloon creations for adults and children. He never charged a penny.

I would suggest you mail 2 of your spokes to Noah or whomever you would like to make spokes for you. That way they know the exact size. You only need 4 spokes, but I suggest you ask him to make 6 in case one does not fit well and so you have a couple extra.

Re: I know that I am a pain but need some help - Sediment bowl

Ethanol = ethyl alcohol, the same stuff they add to gas. I believe Evaporust is flushed out with water. Go ahead and flush your tank a few times with water. Then use a can of denatured alcohol to get the water out. A pint should be enough. You do not need a whole gallon. Let it sit an hour and then ...

There are charts and photos that show the difference. Hopefully those will pop up soon.
I do not think I have copies, but I will look.

Re: WTB 5 lug wire wheel spare carrier

Just wondering if a Model A gooseneck would work. There should be a lot of them around if Model A's used goosenecks. Otherwise I know Model A cars had wheel wells in the front fender. Have you considered that method? I see you have another carrier at the present time. You will have to lift the body ...

My speedster is in the red zone. It has always been next to the Town Hall and I do not see any reason for them to change the location, so I am guessing that is the red zone. p.s. I hope we have our usual MTFCA meeting down on the game field and if anyone wants my brass plaque, they can have it. Othe...

Re: Body filler

I was told by an expert restorer that primer goes on before the bondo. That the primer will seal the metal better than the bondo and prevent rust in the future. Then proceed as normal after the bondo is sanded. Makes sense.

Fan belt won't stay on the pulley

One of our members was having issues keeping the fan belt on the pulley. I used an old trick of turning it around. Now it stays where it belongs. Cheap fix to a frustrating problem. I forgot who told me KISS just might solve your problem. I forget the technical reason why this works. Some sort of fl...

Go ahead and title it as an '11. People that know, will know. Just be honest that it has a 1925 engine and 99% of us will not care. Have a lot of fun with it as well. Congratulations.

Did you make sure timing was correctly set before you started cranking it? Sometimes my speedster with a dizzy requires advancement before starting with the crank. It has never kicked back.

The hardest part of putting something like this together is the only info provided is go to a hdwe store. No on specifies if it is Ace, True Value, or Menards. No one includes SKU or UPC code. Standard or NPT? Any of that info would help.

Re: How do I get my coils out of the coil box?

I ended up pulling out the middle coils with a screwdriver and tapping with a hammer. Three of them need to be reset with my ECCT, but that is easily done. I might even install new points. I sanded one face of each coil, the face towards the driver. Then I applied Johnson's Paste Wax on three sides ...

That is exactly what my car looks like, but I have a starter. Car is titled as 1919, but engine VIN is 1920. The assumption is that it was built in Minneapolis, and maybe it was built with leftover parts. That might explain the side lamps and the windshield.

How do I get my coils out of the coil box?

I have a 1920 Touring with a dash. The coils are stuck tight. I am sure if I get the first one out the rest will come, but how do I get that first one out? You can only grip 2 sides of the box. If I have to sacrifice the points to pull it up that is OK. I can install new points. Or do I jam some sor...
