Re: Amp Meter discharge, but no charge?

UPDATE:

I sent the generator off to Chris Mize and they put it on their bench spinner and was able to set the null point. I just installed it today and it’s working fantastic now.

Starting local club chapter?

One of the things I hear almost 100% of the time here is to contact my local club… there isn’t one. I am located in Topeka, Kansas. Is there a way to search people on the club site located in and around Topeka to see if there is any interest in forming a club chapter? I got to thinking heck I own al...

Re: Polarize a generator

That’s what mine is doing right now too. Came from Lang’s 1 1/2 - 2 years ago and I only just now got the car running and after 2 miles on it I found this problem. Flash it with the car running and it’s good, but after a short drive, or letting the car sit for a while it is not working again. I need...

Re: Amp Meter discharge, but no charge?

UPDATE: I am waiting on my new diode cutout Ron told me to buy before going any further. It should be here today and I will start with Ron’s tests. I did check my wiring according to his diagram and it is showing correct. I will post an update for future reference. I am learning a ton from Ron’s wri...

Re: Amp Meter discharge, but no charge?

Update: I called Ron and he walked me through some things ~ so extremely happy for guys like him! He is going to send me an email with some testing I need to do to focus in on the problem. He also suggested I buy a Nu-Rex SEMI-CONDUCTOR CUTOUT in the morning to help focus down the problem further, I...

Re: Amp Meter discharge, but no charge?

I highly doubt the guy who installed my engine, and put the rebuilt generator even knows what fun projects is. I’m 99.9% sure this is a regular cut out. It’s painted black, old and pitted looking. He basically would have bought anything he didn’t have in his storeroom from Lang’s. He is a old car bu...

Amp Meter discharge, but no charge?

I am having an issue that I have not been able to track down a solution yet. I found this topic from 2016 and it’s just like mine but I never saw the fix so I will add to it for my problem: Below are the facts of what I have done or checked thus far: 1. New 6 V Battery 2. Braided negative battery ca...

Re: Hand crank coil checker kit?

Ron and Scott, Thanks for getting back to me. Sad to hear Bob left us. One of the things I have learned in the 20 plus years restoring my 1926 Runabout is that when you see something like that you need to buy it ASAP. I used to have the flawed mindset that stuff like that would always be available. ...

Hand crank coil checker kit?

A few years back someone was making a hand crank coil checker kit. Anyone have an idea who was making that and if they still have some? I am looking for one for my museums display.

Re: 1926 one ton height?

Front additions normal car garage doors are 9x7. My (museums) addition doors will only be for my model t fords. Nothing modern will ever touch that area while I’m alive. Those doors are locked in concrete now at 8’ wide as of yesterday- so only the height can be changed to 8’ from the planned 9’. It...

Re: Restamping engine numbers

I read somewhere that ford advised you to grind off the old number and stamp the correct number into the block, and stamp a -R behind it for replaced/rebuilt.

1926 one ton height?

I am getting ready to frame my new addition and need to know if a 1926 one ton will make it into a 8’ x 8’ door. My original plans called for a 9’ tall door but they look crazy expensive ~ would be better to drop the height to 8’.
