Insurance: does anyone use Grundy?
Getting paperwork together to put the TT on the road. Grundy seems to have the best rate. How is their service? Other companies better? What coverage do you carry? What should I look out for? Thanks

Seeing what’s under time grime?
What do you use to clean up the grime from years of use or sitting? Sand blasting? Dos and don’t. Chemical sprays that wash off? Elbow grease? Intricate parts? Solvent baths? We’ve got the TT running pretty good, it’s now time to work on the cab, truck bed, wooden wheels, check out the bearings, add...

‘Fatman’ wheel?
Any information about my wheel?
And is there a key that locks it?
Seems there it is a key slot in picture number one with the arrow.

Radiator cap?s
Below find pictures of the gull wing radiator cap and fix. The threaded radiator top cylinder is cracked and until I solder it again, (it was repaired at least once), this will have to do. I tried to epoxy a brass strip around the opening but the Apoxsee did not hold. This has worked but the wings a...

Re: What are you doing with your "T" in May
Over the past month we’ve found all kinds of fixes for the TT. The last was the rod that connects the choke control in the cab with the carburetor. Seems when the carburetor was replaced with a Holley G, the rod was connected to the top arm and not only would not “choke” the carburetor but also woul...

Re: What are you doing with your "T" in May
Recently figured out how to tighten the fan belt as it has been jumping off the lower pulley. (Hope that will fix that problem). Made a exhaust bolt retainer and installed it, should work. Found out where all the oil was coming out. Seems the bendix retainer bolts had let go and somehow cracked open...

Magnet for metal residue capture
I was thinking of putting a rare earth magnet on the transmission cover to grab metal fillings etc. I’m thinking the metal would adhere to the plate/cover and could be easily wiped and cleaned. Anyone tried something like that? We’ve been working up a TT and recently found the two bolts holding the ...

Muffler pack nut loose
I have tightened the nut holding the muffler to the engine, the threads seem to be fine but when the TT runs it vibrates, loosens and eventually unscrews. There was a part in the 2015 catalogue, (thanks Tom) 306IL Exhaust pack nut locking clamp that is not online it seems. What have you done to keep ...

Somewhere on this forum I read a variety of opinions of what lubricants to use in the engine, gears, ruckstell etc.
What do you use and what should I shy away from? Thanks, Bob

Yahoo! It’s purring like a (very loud) cat
A week or so I posted that I was looking for a mentor on Long Island. I’ve been lucky to have met and worked with Tom Pilz and troubleshooted a bunch of problems with my TT. I am happy to say that yesterday we got it to run around the farms parking area in all it’s glory! Over hours of work we figur...

Re: Starting fluid. Yes or no
Last night, thanks to Tom Pilz’s help, we got the truck to start, without any starting fluid! Seems the #3 coil wasn’t making good contact in the ‘box’. Add to the list of ‘things to do ‘.
Thanks Tom!
Thanks Tom!

Starting fluid. Yes or no
As the seller of my new TT. He used a lot of starting fluid. I’ve always heard that starting fluid is not good for use in the engines because it dries out the cylinder walls and can Score them. I realize that a finely tuned machine should not need that help but so far we’ve not been able to get the ...

I just bought a TT that is a blank canvas as far as a cab, seat position truck bed etc. I have a farm on LI dating back to 1751 and run a couple of pre 53 ford tractors on it. We primarily are an agritourism Farm (yesterday 1300 people showed up for egg hunts). We produce our own food, only raising ...
