Quite a few small early cars used 30x3. The first Model 10 Buicks did, although when they went to four seats they strengthened their tires to 30x3-1/2. My 1907 single-cylinder Cadillac runabout has them, but the heavier-bodied touring car version had 30x-1/2.

Re: What have you done on/with/to your T in febuary?

It was a beautiful sunny day, temp 34. Joan and a friend had gone horseback riding, so I put on ski underwear, lined jeans, a warm shirt and ski outerwear. I put a bottle of IPA in my coat pocket and drove the '14 to town for a fine lunch at our local Thai restaurant.

Re: OT: Unintentionaly altered history

Since women got the vote in 1919, I wonder what they were marching for in the twenties. The date might not be the only mislabeled thing in that picture!

Re: White tires

Is that white paint dense enough to be used on BLACK tires? If it is, we could save a lot of money. Buy the cheaper black tires to begin with, get the long tread life of black tires, and get the period look of white tires that stay white.

Re: Idea: USA national Model T tour/event calendar

This idea has the potential to be very useful, as well as very time-consuming for whoever maintains it. Several clubs other than MTFCA and MTFCI have tours that are Model-T-friendly. HCCA national and regional tours welcome pre-'16 Ts. Snappers, a brass-era group in AACA, also welcomes pre-'16 Ts. A...

Re: Old Photo- DR. Gossle's car after a fire

The first Chevrolet Royal Mails were 1914 models, according to the Kimes & Clark Standard Catalog. But this car has me buffaloed. It's left-hand drive, which is unusual that early, but it's neither a Ford nor a Brush. It looks somewhat like a REO, but I'm not convinced.

It comes in 5-gallon pails at Wal-Mart. It's where I buy steam for my Stanley. Good stuff!

Partly OT - First VMCCA Meet 1939

This wonderful old home movie, updated to a more modern format, was just posted on the AACA website. There aren't many Ts. The games are fun, but the one of driving over logs while balancing a tray of drinks looks to be hard on the cars. There are two fires - one simulated, the other clearly not. Th...

Re: Downtown abbey

About 3 years ago I drove my T to the local supermarket. As I was leaving the parking lot, I passed two women walking. One pointed and said: "Look! Downton Abbey!"

Re: How to get the ladies interested !!!!!

My wife hasn’t ridden in an antique car since an accident a couple of years ago. Before that, she went once in a while. I asked her how I should answer this query; here are some of her thoughts. Ask your wife what she’d like to do. (If she says she never wants to see that smelly contraption again, i...
