Thanks all for info Texas T has this part It seems like a 2 piece wood block that slips over steering column but not sure it will work seems like it would not allow movement of the control rods As you can see no attachment points on columns

Thank you for this info That would make sense if they took the vaporizer carb off and replaced it why there is no hole in the valve side plate cover

I have lubricated rim front and rear with wd-40 I bought the rim removal tool No luck It seems the problem is the rim will not push in to any degree therefore not releasing the lug cut out on the light bowl. Any suggestions? I have been pushing in hard with the tool and see only a tiny movement back

I just got a beat up 1921 with the ignition shot. I sent it out to the great ignition re-builder. To get the car running folks suggested running a 6 volt wire right to the coil box with an on off switch IT WORKS SO tomorrow try and start the car !

Thanks for the ideas I did grind frame metal bright to get a good battery ground. I will check voltage at the coil box to be safe. I will put in old fashion champion X plugs and try starting on MAG !~! Never give up

Valve grinding or cutting new face question with picture
Well ALMOST done fixing a 1917 New rings wiring, carb but still way low compression. Take a look at the valve and seats. On number one cylinder I now have a continuous grind feel after 300 rotations of the lapping back and forth tool on intake but not exhaust. I am guessing I need to cut a new face....

This old Model T will need the filter changed many times after 45 years to keep the carb from jamming up with debris It looks like coffee grounds I am scraping from system

Good idea, take off sediment glass bulb and clean it out see if any fuel gets to the sediment valve Time to suck gas out of the tank

My thank you to all the great replies. I stopped working on 1940-1950 cars 20 years ago when parts became so hard to find and I discovered Model T's They are so easy and fun to work on. I get great pleasure on hearing an engine start again after decades of not running !!!!
