Re: Headlight rim removal

I made mine out of wood. The blocks catch each rivet. You simply push and hold some pressure on the base, and twist it, and it releases the rim on my 1915 every time, with no scratches or damage.

Re: Model T drive featured on Miss Etv last night

No, none of my cars, or motorcycles were in the video. The situation was, one of my good friends had underwent a major operation, and badly wanted to go on the drive. But the docs forbade him from driving. So I drove my ‘39 Ford pickup down to his house, and I piloted is 1911 Torpedo, and he rode sh...

Re: Rust removal Evapo-Rust

Thermocure will not harm rubber, or brass at all. No effects. The instructions say that heat speeds up the process. I recommend you drain and refill with straight water, and pour the stuff in, and drive it, to get it hot. At least 20 miles or more. Bring it back and drain it. Flush it out with water...

The company also makes a product called Themocure to dissolve through chelation, the rust in a cast iron block. I can give you first hand experience with this product. I have a 1915 touring car. I live in Mississippi and it get HOT here in the summertime. The car would overheat in traffic when in to...

Re: A change of fuel on my road to Damascus

I could not agree more, concerning problems with ethanol in gasoline. I never run ethanol fuel in ANYTHING that has a carburettor. I only buy it if I have no choice, when I am driving a carburettor equipped vehicle, and use it up as fast a possible when I get home, and refill with real gasoline. If ...

The Jimmie Guthrie Memorial run in the UK 2019

Yes, there are photos of Model T's but there also is various antique bike and other antique automobiles in the UK. It is worth looking at, if you have not seen this photo gallery. This is the event in 2019. It was cancelled in 2020 due to the virus. There are 314 photos to look at. Here is the link:...

On our 1915 touring car, I put LED boards in each light, and added a second oil light to the rear, and have directionals front and rear, and obviously brake lights on the rear. I have a 22 coupe. In the interest of safety, (with today's idiot drivers) I searched ebay and found these two antique arrow directionals to use on the front. They are 4 inches in diameter. I consider Social security a government Ponzi scheme. When it was started, a lot of people never made it to 65 years old, and they got to keep the money. Those that did make it, and started collecting, never lived long enough to get back the amount they paid in. That's why they keep raising the reti...

No, it is not on the low band. On early cars the shaft for high gear comes through the aluminium hogs head on the right side. I understand that on later cars, that was not an open hole.

A trick to stop an oil leak on the hogs head

I have a 1915 Touring car, with the aluminium Hogs head. Naturally, it leaks a lot of oil out from around the steel shaft on the right side. Fixing it "properly" involves removing the hogs head, and machining a groove for an O ring or even bushing the hole. That is a lot of work, and time consuming....

Our '22 coupe kept spitting the new brass nut off of the threads of the new exhaust manifold, so the last time, I made a clamp for the nut, using a everyday modern muffler clamp, that I welded a short piece of scrap flat bar, in the center of the stamped sheet metal part of the clamp. Worked like a ...

My 96 year old mother in law's name is Ezma. Needless to say, we named our 1915 touring car after her. I made the plate from scratch, and hand painted her name on it, and bought the "1915" numbers from Lang's.
