How much grease do I need?
Our T has grease zerks instead of grease pots. I'm pumping some grease in periodically, but how do I know if there's enough/too much? I have no real experience with a grease gun so it's a new science to me. I give it a few pumps, but never really know when to stop. Is it possible to overdue it or ca...

Topic icon meanings
I seem to remember when I registered on this new site there was a page that explained the icons shown alongside the topic headings (y'know, those things that turn blue when you're read them), but I'll be danged if I can find it now.. I can pretty much work out what most of them are, but what's the o...

Re: Looking for help re mixture problem
Just a quick follow-up on this. I bit the bullet and bought a set of Champion X's and it appears to have done the trick. I've done about 50 miles or so since and the plugs look as good as new, so no more fouling up. Not sure how or why simply changing plugs should do it, but it seems to have so I'm ...

Re: Ruckstell push/pull rod question
Sounds like just what I need. Hopefully someone here in the UK can supply one, buying from the online US stores can be a little pricey on postage.
Thanks all for your help.

Re: Ruckstell push/pull rod question
Hmmm, can't edit. Don't worry Dan, I found it - thanks. Can I use this even though the lever is on the left?

Re: Ruckstell push/pull rod question
Yeah, I did think about that Scott, but reluctant to drill holes in the car. I guess I could fashion some kind of clamp that bolts on.
Dan, what's a P206?

Ruckstell push/pull rod question
I have a '26 Touring with Ruckstell, and the lever is on the same side as the hand brake. The rod that connects the shift lever to the rear axle is a very weak piece of mild steel tubing that is joined in the middle by a threaded core, roughy 3/8" in diameter. There is about an inch or so of bare th...

Re: FREE
Some of you guys are taking way too much offence over this. It's true that, while I am reading it, I have not completed it, but if it's anything like You Are Awful (But I Like You): Travels Through Unloved Britain (and so far it pretty much is) then I know what I'm going to get. That book, by the wa...

Re: Looking for help re mixture problem
I have never had much success cleaning plugs with a wire brush. Sandblasting works best to get the carbon off the porcelain up inside. Maybe time for a new set. Interesting - why would you want to clean all the way up inside the plug, surely the only bits that matter are where the spark occurs, no?

Not had a chance to do any further checks, but I thought What The Hey and ordered a set of Champion Xs - at least I'll be able to rule that out and they'll look so much cooler

Re: Looking for help re mixture problem
Thanks for the replies fellas. Plugs are Champion 25s. Also, how are you cleaning the plugs ? Wire brush and brake cleaner. They come up clean but dark, like the metal has been 'blacked'. What year car and what carb are you running ? 1926 Touring, carb unknown (I'll take a pic and post in a sec) Is ...

Looking for help re mixture problem
Hi all, Firstly a big thanks to Admin for the new forum, this is very cool. I've been away since our T went into storage in Sept '17 and due to a very busy year in '18 we only got her back out at Easter so we've got a bit of catching up to do... So first thing I need to ask for help with is what loo...
