FS - 1912 Stewart Model 26 speedometer - $200, Milford MI 48380 - SOLD

I recently purchased a 1910 Stanley Model 70 Steam Car, and it was fitted with this speedometer. A video of the car getting cleaned up here for those that are curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04YZK4J6m7s&feature=youtu.be After talking to a speedo friend, he informed me the speedo that came w...

FS - Fun Model A Shirt

Not really a Model T part, but OT didn't feel like the right place either... I have a 1914 T touring, but also have a few As. I figure, there might be others here that have one of Henry's ladies. My dad has always been into Model As, and it is how I got into the old car hobby. He is over 80 and has ...

Re: What have I done... again

Jerry, This car wasn't at Hershey. I know of a 1911 Model 70 that went for auction there, and another Model 70 that was a private sale. I spent a weekend helping the guru Howard Johnson get the one that went for auction back under steam before it was shipped to Hershey. The private sale one was a st...

Re: What have I done... again

The car had sat for a long time prior to me purchasing it. Larry from Ammo NYC cleaned it up for me prior to it arriving. His work on the paint was amazing. Video of his work here:

Re: What have I done... again

Rich,

I am very sorry to say Brent passed. It was a giant loss of a good man in the steam community.

Re: What have I done... again

Norm, Most steam cars use liquid fuel for external combustion. When everything goes per plan, they are fine. But there are several ways for things to go wrong and put fuel in the wrong place. Liquid fuel in the wrong place and a source of ignition can make for some spectacular fires. Most of which a...

Re: What have I done... again

It's a 1910 Stanley Model 70. It needs some TLC, but I hope to be touring with it next summer.

Re: Old Car Festival, Dearborn - pictures?

For those that want to take a rude, I will be in the red 23 Stanley. It is a condensing car so it looks like a big gas car, not a coffin nose. Throw a thumb out if you see me drive by, or when parked I will be in the judged area

Re: OCF pictures?

I will be there, but the T is staying home. I'll be in the red 1923 Stanley Steam Car. If anyone wants a ride in the steamer, just flag me down.

Re: Headlight identification

Thanks for all of the help. There is such a wealth of old car knowledge on this forum. I post some pictures of random old headlamps and within 2 hours, I have excellent leads on where they came from including pictrues of reference vehicles - kinda crazy. The text on the lens reads: Liberty Lens Macb...

Re: Headlight identification

Rich,

Thanks for the extremely helpful reply. The lights in the picture do look a lot like the Studebaker lights you found. Maybe Wayne will chime in with more info.

I am often amazed at the breath of old car knowledge that hangs around here.

Thanks!

Headlight identification

I could use a little help identifying these headlights a friend found in the family barn.

My guess is a black era T. The brackets don't look right, but I really don't know those cars.

Free Ford Times magazines

Hello, I have about 130 Ford Times magazines that I do not want. The bulk (~120) of them are from between 1947 and 1975, and there are 10 that are a larger format from the 80s. Their condition varies from fair to good. I have had them for years, and moved them across 3 houses. I was cleaning up the ...

Re: OT - Steam Cars

I had the Stanley out yesterday. I switched from Kerosene to a 50/50 mix of diesel and gasoline for the main fuel and it seemed to like it better. Burner howled less and I didn't have one tube fire all day. If the weather holds and I can get out of work early enough I think I am going to steam it up...
