My TT has the 5:1 gears and will cruise at 30 MPH just fine. You can't keep up with a tour unless you go with a aux. transmission. KC Warford makes a real good trans. for the TT that will let you keep up with the speed of the cars. You will still need a good strong running motor in any case.

Pins and bushings for the front axle and seals and de-gunk for the rear axle. Also adjust center main.

Re: Disc Brakes--Yes/No??
I drive in the mountains of Western Montana and Idaho. I've also taken my T over the Beartooth Pass and every major pass in Montana and this is how I see it. Totally stock brakes are not that safe in these mountains, RM brakes are pretty good but they can get hot and fade if you're not careful and w...

Re: Somewhat related to the Ferry thread from a few days ago.
We've been living in a "chinook" all winter. That is changing starting tomorrow. The real Montana winter is arriving with a vengeance. This happened several years ago, we got a whole winters worth of snow in one week. When it was done we had five feet of snow on the flat. I had to break out the exca...

Re: Cockpit Choke for Stromberg OF?
I used a choke cable with a knob that looked similar to the T choke/mixture control. I used the same dash hole as the stock set up.

Re: Ring gear attachment
I found spools used in quite a few old speedster builds. Thought I'd give it a try. I counter sunk the screw holes and used new brass screws. I cut them flush and peened them as well as Red Locktite. I have about a thousand miles on this motor now and everything looks to be well oiled.

Re: Max a T engine can be bored? And other questions
I'm running 0.080" over bore on one of my T's. No problem except if you run a high compression head. I had to remove material from the head in every combustion chamber. Not a lot but with a no head gasket clearance check the pistons hit. BTW, I used aluminum flat top pistons.

Aside from painting tractors my 23 Speedster is all International Harvester red white and blue. Holds up real good. I use Van Sickle also.

I'm running wires, safety hubs and disk brakes on my '26 Roadster. Every thing works and fits good. I am running RM brakes on my Speedster and they stop that light car good.

Re: Always have adult supervision when working on your Model T
My old shop cat winters in my shop office, in the same spot and same position. When it warms up she will venture out into the shop and be a total pest. Between the old shop cat and the three barn cats I have no rodents in anything.
