Hi there, welcome to hobby! The 'can' is called the 'Bendix Cover'. It covers the starter bendix drive. A good option may be to remove the bendix cover (it is secured with screws around its edge) and then solder the crack to seal it. When replacing the cover clean the surfaces and a light wipe of se...

The TT rear is worm drive. The TT Ruckstell uses the standard worm drive as well, with the underdrive gears in the larger diff housing. While they may look at first glance like car Ruckstells they are much beefier and have no interchangeable parts. See Martynn' super drawings for more details here: ...

Re: Saving Jimmy Darcy Expedition
Looks like three trusses were used (four if you count the support under the transmission): one design fore and aft on each chassis rail and the 'x' across the width. Would stiffen it up measurably I think. I only have one brace in the 'Aftermarket Items" section: https://mtfca.com/phpBB3/app.php/gal...

Hi Stan, the most practical thing is leave it there and just rout the gas line a little to fit.
If it works, then it works
When you peer under other Ts you may see various 'clock' positions in use

Re: GPS for Model T travel?
Why not look for an old phone, you know the young folk throw them away real fast when new models come out, so you can find them real cheap. Then install a speedo and map app and buy a cheap holder for it from 'that Chinese place' on the internet. It may be cheaper than a GPS unit and will give you t...

Re: You cant Tow a model T?
Hi Bill, Yes, you are partly correct, you can tow a T a VERY SHORT distance slowly, but you can't tow a model T any long distance. There are several threads here on the forum explaining in more detail but the essence of it is that the transmission will always turn, even in neutral, and it will destr...

Thanks Steve. That sounds like a plan. I have worked through 2 Canadian winters so am hoping Texas may be a little warmer but still understand it will be a tad colder than NZ summer! (Ironically my daughter told us not to come mid Texas summer, she tells me I would not survive the heat

Advance planning - Plano Texas
Advance planning is in progress for a trip to Plano Texas to visit my newest grand daughter, she is expected in December and we hope to visit January or February 2024 for a few weeks. As we are coming from New Zealand it's about now that I will need to book airfares. So, as we have not fixed dates y...

Hi Jeff,
I got around that limitation for the videos by posting a screen shot, then put the link in the 'comments' section. See for an example: app.php/gallery/image/2991
Thank you for the work on the 3d's it is great to have access to.
Cheers

Well, I can say I knew that car! All the way here in little old New Zealand, not 2 miles from where I live is an Austin V12. Looks every bit as impressive as the car at the top but with a massive V12 engine. A 'nice piece of kit' as we say. And, se, it has nothing in common with Austin of England ex...

Well, they don't make them any more and it seems like a lot of T collectors have already scrapped a lot.
Does your local club have a 'Parts Shed' maybe for those you don't want to keep?

Hmmm. is this a real picture? looks rather like photoshop - the cloud looks odd where it meets the buildings (disappears), the colour (sic) cast looks different, and the level of resolution between the street and the cloud appear different (cloud is much more detailed)?

Ironic that with a truck you have no where to carry your lunch in - hence the need for a box on the deck
How did you get on with the Ruckstell issue you were having?

Re: Bolt Chart Update July 2023 - Can You Help Me?
Are you referring to a car/roadster body or a TT truck cab? If a TT cab. I can't find any specific factory numbers for those bolts, however, the factory drawings indicate that they are 1/2" bolts. No length is given, so you would need to have them to suit your particular body build. They would be ca...
