Here is my solution after fighting the hill climb problem for years. I used to carry an extra 5 gallon can to top off the tank. Now I don’t. My tank is always pressurized.

This is the annual MTFCA event which happens during the first Saturday in June. We have three days of touring around the Richmond area followed by a car show and swap meet. The museum is open for free to all visitors.

My 1910 and 1913 don’t seem to have the same problem as those gas tanks are mounted higher and closer to the carb than the Depot Hack.

My Depot Hack does have a carb shut off valve.

Negative pressure doesn’t exist. The one way valve is designed for low vacuum or pressure. Anytime the pressure in the tank goes negative, the valve opens thereby eliminating the condition you are describing of the tank collapsing. You may want to check your coils on a HCCT. This will confirm if your coils are adjusted for running on the magneto. I also use Rotella T4 because it has the JASCO rating. JASCO is the Japanese rating for wet motorcycle clutches, which is also present in a Model T.

1910 rear strap

Does anyone have a picture of the rear strap? I had a new top installed but I’m having trouble with the rear strap. Here is a picture of what I came up with but I don’t think it’s correct. The saddle has a larger slot on one side and two round holes which I have no idea what they are for.

I use these to protect the painted rims while using tire irons. Install the tire and tube as One Unit, starting at the valve stem and working away from the stem. To be clear, the 2 pedal, 2 lever cars had a water pump. The hand crank will rest in the up or down position as there is a detent which holds the lever in these two positions. #394 is in our MTFCA museum as an example.

I recommend purchasing a new timer. If you can afford it the best timer is a electronic solid state one. Next best is a brush type and lastly is the standard roller timer.

Tony and Susan are close friends of ours. He was instrumental in getting me to join the Indy 500 club several years ago.

Tony was a great person, always there with a helping hand, unselfish, and possessed a vast knowledge. He will be greatly missed.

I have two of these starters and they work great. No you do not need to reverse your ring gear. The gear on the starter has the correct angle to engage the ring gear. I highly recommend this WASP starter.

I highly recommend the I Timer. I put one on my 24 Depot Hack after this summer's Home Coming. The advantage is that it acts exactly as a regular timer, requiring the mechanical adjustment of the advancer on the steering column. It does not ever require cleaning or replacement parts.
