Re: A $20 (or less!) DIY regulator, and other issues
If the parts business is a sideline, and Bill got overwhelmed, why did he just recently buy Bob’s KW coil rebuilding setup?

Re: Interesting Shipping Document
Upham received 3 tourings, after all discounts, for $1384.50. Each car was $461.50. From the factory, each car was $550. I’m not exactly sure how much over MSRP he would be able to sell each for and make money. If his market is light on cars, maybe. The factory already got its money

Tire pump
Got an original Ford pump at Luray.
Replaced the leather and it blows air with the air hose off. Connect it to a bicycle tube, and it does nothing
There’s no ball bearing present in the hose fitting, either.
What obvious item am I overlooking?

Re: Another Centerdoor question
I found this:
“The roof is of the soft type with artificial leather reinforced and padded, making it as durable and substantial as the old fiber board type, and eliminating the possibility of vibration noises.”
The above is talking about the new Sedan coming out in 1923

Thank you for that response. However, I found the photo I was referring to (on the computer, not my phone). It shows half-round on the centerdoor back panel (bottom panel in the image) and a comparison to a regular sedan. and how its metal is attached to the roof. Did Centerdoors have half round to ...

It's a conglomeration of years. It has 1922 window latches in it, and a 1914 hood. It still has a hood rod mount at the top of the firewall where it meets the cowl.

Another Centerdoor question
I have a photo in my files that I cannot post right now that shows the comparison of a later sedan to a Centerdoor. It shows a 1/2 round molding that covers the seam from the roof to the rear metal panel. Is this accurate, or was the rear panel just nailed over the roof with nothing to protect the s...

Re: Radiator mounting, can't do it or I don't know what I'm doing
You’ve got something mounted wrong. The radiator mounting ears should NOT touch the frame. If it does, the ability to flex is gone. After the stud protrudes through the frame, put a spring on the stud. Then add the cup with the lip, then the radiator and shroud. Then add the remaining cup and run do...

Re: tube question 30x3-1/2 demountables
My tubes are "Custom Classic" brand. The stems were noticeably offset and leaning toward the blue stripe side when inflated before putting them into the tires, but all were tilted different amounts so it does not seem to be intentional. Lang's told me they don't know what the blue stripe signifies....

While looking over the bones of my Centerdoor I’ve noticed that the windshield was never drilled for a wiper to be installed
I assume the car was built and sold without one
What gives?

Re: Radiator mounting, can't do it or I don't know what I'm doing
From what I see in the parts books, the stud comes in two different lengths.
Also, one spring goes on the bottom of the stud and the other goes on top of the frame

On a wooden firewall, is the terminal block held to the firewall with the same screws that hold the wires? Or are there longer screws for that? Thanks!
