Re: Obsolete obsolescence

Bonded linings? Please elaborate Bonded linings were popular for a while in the 60-80 era. They were a very hard industrial lining that was glued / bonded to the band. They were harsh, chattered, but wore forever. I ran some back then but when I saw the wear on the drums, I went back to cotton and ...

Each led bulb needs a resister to work. Call the seller for advice on proper installation.
Load Resistor is only needed when used as a turn signal with a bi-metal flasher.

I had similar troubles using the vendor channels on my 27 Tudor. I ended up returning the kit and using channel sourced from Stanpro. They have been merged with another company now. I had to transfer the clips from my old channel to the new.

They hold up well. Check bearings annually repack when needed. Run the MTFCA safety check yearly. Keep things lubed, cotter pins and safety wire in place. Then drive it like it's a 100 year old car.

I agree with Allen. The seats in a Tudor come out with little effort. Much easier to change bands in my 27 Tudor than in my 21 Touring.

Re: Timer rod adjustment question

If you are using a New Day Timer, Disconnect the timing rod from the timer before attempting to bend it. Trying to bend while connected to the timer can tweak the tab and cause it to break off the timer.

For my 27 Tudor, I had to use my router to cut a 3/8" relief in the floorboard to clear. If you have the original floor then you might want to cut a replacement and save the original. For earlier cars, the floorboards sit higher up and should not be an issue.

The spring should have a square head center bolt. That square head fits in the square hole in the cross member. That should keep the springs from moving from side to side.

.. Looking for a longer low speed so when you shift to high it won’t bog this would be for hill climb racing only. With a Ruckstell you can eliminate that low-high bog. Starting with the Ruckstell in high, as you release the low pedal, shift the Ruckstell to low. This gives you an intermediate "hig...

That would make the angle of the pan higher at the rear, so I would add another pad under the front. Then you will need a good-sized ground strap.

Re: how to check the level of lube in the rear end of a 1914?

Oil level will depend on the year of your rear axle. Early axles had the fill hole above the centerline of the axle, which led to over filling. Oil needs to be below the center line of the axle to keep it out of the axle tubes. Later housings (1920?) have the oil hole below center line. I usually fi...

Your car most likely had a vaporizer carb originally. The throttle arm is located near the top by the springs. Langs sells an adapter, 6299CL that allows you to use that arm over the top of the engine. or you can get a bolt on lever, 6297, drill a hole through the block and tappet cover. I have used...

"was more unsure of any improper loading of the electrical circuits if starting in this manner."

The starter is powered from the battery at all times. When you switch to the magneto, it only powers the ignition.
