If you can see the glue lines after you put it back together you could paint more lines on the globe to make it look like crazing which is common in old pottery.

Thank you Stan. That is what I had always thought but your comment about being able to adjust the carb from inside the car made me wonder.

Stromberg OF adjustment

Last Saturday (12-28) Stan Howe listed a slightly modified OF for sale in the classifieds. stromberg OF.JPG " notice what somebody made to fit the earlier style adjuster. I had never thought of doing that, it's a unique idea and would make it easy to adjust the high speed mixture from inside the car...

If you jack up the rear end and remove the wheels you can put a piece of heavy wall steel rectangular tubing under the frame and over the wishbones and support it on good jack stands.

Here's mine.
The word "Tractor" is below the Ford script.
I have no idea why the first photo posted twice. Or why the gauge photo is below the text.

Re: Cleaning

When I'm under my unrestored Tudor I'm working on something not cleaning but I do think about the last time some of the bolts had a wrench on them it was when the car was built or maybe when my Grandfather worked on it. But when the little specks of original paint or rust or maybe dirt from some roa...

Re: Large drum hydraulic brakes

005 R.jpg Dennis, I think you grind the shoe to allow room for the brake cam to clear. The cam will press on the back of the shoe. I don't know about the adjuster clearance. Frank, I guess the bolt holes are 5 X 5-1/2' in those drums. I believe Mid 50's Chevy drums are 5 X 4-3/4". You would have to...

The parts shown are what he had when I was there except the last photo of the anchor pins which I found on ebay after looking at dozens of photos. They are 55-62 Chevy (maybe Corvette) #3705732 and are being repr...
