Re: Anyone with a speedster and a Ruckstell and hand brake on the left outboard off the body?

Well, I have not built this set-up but I have thought about it. It uses a factory parking brake shaft extended to the outside of the speedster body. A tube with a handle welded on slides over the extended section of the parking brake shaft. The factory emergency brake handle then goes on. For a spee...

For those who might be wondering about the paint color on this car, Brad Lusk had told me the car was bought new by a business owner(I believe a music shop) and was painted this color to match the business’s color. One of my dad’s cars came to him with a Wilmo one-piece manifold on it. It makes installing the manifolds very easy and the car has always run great with the one-piece manifold. Great photo, but I am not sure it is a TT. The fenders, hood louvers and wheels don’t look quite right. Maybe Chevrolet?

I think Brian nailed it. Here are some pictures of a 1910 Chalmers I found on the internet.

Front wheel drive Model T

I was looking at some photos of a supercharged, overhead valve, front wheel drive Model T speedster and wondered if anyone has tried to recreate this car or any front wheel drive Model T? I’m aware of the 4 wheel drive conversions. This speedster appears to be hand built with a backward engine to al...

I think my speedster would qualify as “built from scratch.” My dad and I started building it when I was in 7th grade and finished it my Senior year of high school.

Hi John, I did prep and paint the car about 20 years ago now. I had two shells to choose from when I was putting the car together. The other shell was factory with the script, but the one without the script was in much better condition so that’s what I when with. There is no stamping on the back sid...

I have always assumed the radiator shell on my speedster was an aftermarket shell, but other than missing the Ford script it is identical to a factory shell.

Re: Ball Bearing Fan Hub & New Fan for '19?

The later aluminum pulley with sealed bearings and the accompanying fan blade will not fit with a brass 14 radiator without trimming the fan blades down. I have a ball bearing brass fan pulley with riveted blades on my 15 and am very happy with it. I would go that route over trimming the blades, but...

It was nice to see such a good turnout at this year’s swap meet. As others have already mentioned, there was a lot of rare early Model T parts as well as the more common Model T parts. Thanks for the responses. The photos in the link Mark posted have good detail on the tacks and trim. The 1915 door latch is a little different than the later one shown in the pictures Mark posted. The movement of the handle I think is less on the 1915 and so I am wondering if the hole is a different...

I also noticed the square looking top sockets, however, I think they may be round with the light hitting them just right to make them appear square. I would say the car is a 15 or 16. With the wide drum transmission you probably also have a 4 dip pan. Since the ears on the hogs head are not being used it is probably a good idea to check for pan support brackets on the bottom side of the pan in the corners. Many Ts have run without them, but without the support from the hogshead e...

A standard Model A air filter will probably fit. The originals were a wire mesh screen but you can buy them with a modern paper filter from most of the Model A part suppliers, such as Snyder or Macs.
