Photo of the Model T that went to Alaska and Back
I recently visited with Dean Yoder who drove his 1924 Touring to Alaska in 2008 pulling a trailer. He averaged 35 mph. I assume photos of it have been previously been on the Forum, but I thought, sense the trip was 16 years ago, I would post it here. It is in storage so the photo does not show the e...

Re: The Restoration of My 1927 Coupe is Near Completion
Yes George, your heat pipe fit beautifully! Thanks Steve, I meant Ben Martin. Here are before and after photos of the switch. Ben did an outstanding restoration! I have kept a journal since I started the restoration in September 2020. I just added up the manhours--537. This includes my time and that...

The Restoration of My 1927 Coupe is Near Completion
I purchased the coupe from a farmer when I was a junior in high school in 1954. I started the restoration in the fall of 2020. I want to share ten photos to show what it looks like today and what it looked like with my father and mother standing by it in 1959. They had just driven it in a parade cel...

Need Suggestions for Stop Lights/Turning Signals for My Coupe
I need suggestions for stop lights/turning signals for my 1927 coupe. Locations and types, etc. I have front and rear bumpers. The rears are the short split type.
The suppliers' catalogs have a number of options.

Paint or Not??
A minor item, but I am curious, what others do; that is, paint the carb heat pipe or leave it bare?

Re: I Have Fan Belt Problem on My 1927 Coupe
Norm, Thanks for the suggestion. I did what you suggested. However, I had to rotate the hub "clockwise", looking from the cab toward the radiator, not "counterclockwise". It solved my problem as shown in the attached photos.
The last two photos show the commutator rod in the two extreme positions.

I Have Fan Belt Problem on My 1927 Coupe
I used a string to measure the distance around the fan hub (ball bearing hub) and crankshaft pulley (original pulley). It measured 32 inches, so I ordered the "32 inch endless belt,1926-27" show in the supplier's catalog. I could not get it on, so I ordered the 33 1/8" belt. It touches the New Day T...

Today, we worked on installing the cushion onto the seat spring for my 1927 coupe. We used a compression table. Here are photos. We still have to finish the corners.

Re: Just Curious!
Jerry V in his May 13 (6:41am) reply raised the possibility that water maybe leaked into the oil. The block was inspected during the engine restoration so I doubted that there had been leakage. I checked the coolant level in the radiator, but I couldn't remember the level to which I filled it. There...

Just Curious!
I haven't started my restored engine yet. I put four and half quarts of oil in it several weeks ago. I left the top petcock open, and I stopped putting oil in when I first saw oil starting to come out of it. I recently noticed oil seeping out of that petcock, so I replaced it yesterday. Before I rem...

Re: Horn Wiring
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. It was very helpful. After studying the information, I have decided to do the following: I will connect one horn button wire to #1 on the terminal block and the other horn button wire to the horn (terminal with the wing nut). I will connect the other term...

Frank, I sent my last note before I saw yours!
I was looking at the paragraph in the upper right hand corner of the diagram above the one you just referred to. Where are the T-1, 1-K, etc. shown?

Re: Generator Wire
I "think" I found it in Frank's April 17 post responding to my April 15 Horning Wiring post. It is a #16, unless it is one of the exceptions noted. I can't find where the exceptions are "T-1, 1-K, K-U etc." are identified.
Thanks, Frank.
Thanks, Frank.

Re: Can't Install My Fan Belt
I measured with a string before ordering the 32" belt. The reason it doesn't fit may be that the diameter of new fan hub is larger than the original hub. I will check that. The pulley on the crank is the original one.
I have ordered a 33 1/8" belt.

Can't Install My Fan Belt
I purchased a 32" endless fan belt for my 1927 coupe. I can not get it on. I have installed a new water outlet piece as shown in the attached photo. I have the outlet piece adjusted for the shortest belt position. Comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

Allan, There are two wires on my horn.
Jim, I said the one wire was hooked to the starter switch, I have looked at the photo again, and I think I was wrong. Now I am not sure where the wire from the wing nut terminal was connected!

Re: Horn Wiring

After I made this post, I remembered that I had taken a photo of the horn and its wire connections while it was on the coupe prior to restoration. You can see that the terminal with the...
