I'll put it in the vice.
I put a voltmeter across the terminals of the starter switch. When engaged, voltage drops from 6.3 to 5.0 of not less. Must be lots of resistance that and not putting full power to the starter.
Once I bench test the starter, I'll remove the switch.

Re: Getting Rattles Back On The Road
I may do the front end this weekend. I noticed, the Rust-Oleum Farm paint. Can you comment on how it compares to the appliance and the regular gloss black? Drying, curing, leveling....

Re: Distributor and coil, vs. Coil boxes and timer
I have a quart of acetone in the tank and it looks like it's working on the varnish. Once I fill it with fresh gas, I should be able to crank her over.

Re: Distributor and coil, vs. Coil boxes and timer
Thanks. At least it'll give me a chance at figuring it out once I do go to start it. So far, wiring looks good, plugs look good, cap is new, carb is clean as is gas line. Last week, I cleaned up the sediment bowl so that's all clear.

Re: Distributor and coil, vs. Coil boxes and timer
If I was installing a coil and distributor from scratch, does anyone have written instructions on how to do so? Just so I can see if the PO installed them correctly.

Re: Double stamped wrench
Yep, it's a 1917 wrench (part number, not year). It probably got double struck when it was forged, like a double die coin. I just hope it didn't happen because a new person at Moore or Herbrand (or whoever was making these for Ford) was slow, and he didn't get his fingers out of the way of the die ...

Where's Waldo err Ford
This is fun. Every time I take a part off to de-rust, clean and re paint, I find a logo. I'm sure y'all know we're they are and this is a great treasure hunt for me.

Re: FS 1926 roadster body
Nice. I wouldn't get a decent rebuildable roller just to part out only to keep the rims. I really need 2 or 3 - 21" split rims. The ones on my car worked for the PO for over 30 years but the car is nice enough that I'd like to try and find better of i can swing it. Let me know if available. Just th...

If that roller behind the body was available, I'd get it for the wheels. From what little I see, they're straight!! Lol

Re: WTB - 21" Kelsey Hayes split rims
I just went out and checked again. We have 2 Chevy rims and 3 Ford. The rim my son and I just refinished, is the one pictured and was drilled for a Ford valve stem location and the hole welded shut. We were wondering why and this answers our questioning it. Still on the hunt for new Ford rims and th...

Re: WTB - 21" Kelsey Hayes split rims
Interesting. So I just looked and I have the one pictured, 2 with a vertical "Hayes" on the left side of the lugs, and 2 others with no brand that I can see. The spare is decent as is the 1 we refinished and the other 3 are going to take a lot of work. So I'm looking for 3 or 4, 21" split rims close...

106 is too expensive?
I posted on another thread of the 450 475 21 would be good replacements for 4.50/4.50 - 21. Does anyone know?

Re: WTB - 21" Kelsey Hayes split rims
Mine say Hayes across the top above the hole. I assumed they were referred to as Kelsey Hayes.
So if they are just Hayes, that's what I'm looking for.

Tire Size
The tires on my T show "The Lester Tire Co. 4.40/4.50-21" on the sidewall. They have no real signs of wear or cracking and are probably old.
I found new tires that are listed as 450/475-21. Will these work?
