Re: R V Andersons’s businesses

I, and I bet several others with Heinze coils, hope and pray someone picks up the business of being able to "tune them" I was working with R.V. on testing and tuning Heinze coils using the dwell time to fire method when the unthinkable happened. Test results were just starting to trickle in from us...

Wow, My pension check actually INCREASED this year by a whopping 50%! (That's right, 1.5 X $0 = $0.00 ; in other words, 50% increase of Zero is still $0.00) What's a Pension? Consider yourself very fortunate if you Have a Pension to help offset the increasing cost of enjoying the Model T hobby. That...

Re: Where is this voltage coming from?

Something must be completing the circuit between "Open" positive battery terminal and chassis ground in order for you to be reading 3.3 Volts across the open battery disconnect switch using your analog voltmeter. A typical analog meter has in internal resistance of approximately 20K Ohms/V so on the...

Well, that settles it, the repo version is built backwards with respect to the original. :o
Go figure. At least that makes the repo coil hammer easily identifiable as such.

Exactly how is it used in the adjustment of the spark coil? Here are a few examples on how the coil adjusting tool is used. The goal in adjusting Model T coil points is to set all coils for equal and consistent firing Time. Tap down on the rear vibrator spring to increase the dwell time to fire spa...

The obvious question was whether a Model T mag could supply the current necessary to charge a 12 volt battery through the cheap regulator. The answer is Yes and No. Yes the Model T magneto can supply the current necessary to charge a 12 volt battery (modestly at ~ 1A steady DC) but the Model T magn...

Not exactly clear on the on the objective in supping up the Magneto output, perhaps just having fun. A couple thoughts for your consideration. Operating on battery means you have to continually adjust spark advance with engine RPM for optimal engine performance. A distributor with proper centrifical advance is one solution if you don't mind the non-stock appearance. Another option is the E-Timer electronic ignition which uses the stock coi...

Find someone in your area to adjust your coils for equal and consistent firing Time using an ECCT. You will likely notice a marked improvement in engine performance if your timer, coil box and plugs are in good working order.

Capacitor leakage does not degrade coil performance significantly unless it's very bad. I would not replace capacitors if the VALUE measures 0.47uF +/- 20% ( or 0.33uf to 0.56uF). Capacitors with lower value should be replaced in my experience.
