Ok problem appears to be fixed. After trying another standard timing gear although it helped it didnt fix the problem above idle. Sorry should have stated backfire mainly exhaust but also carby at times. If i lean the carby out until it starts to die it still does it. Seems it doesnt matter rich or lean it still back fires. I have been thinking its the 7.5 degree timing gear. But others say it is ok. Wondering if its the combi...

Done plenty both lhd and rhd.
Never a problem with steering column and firewall in place.
But being an aussie we always try to do things without removing stuff that doesnt have to be removed.

Ok my coup has high fire wall . It has the cowl vent and has timber door frames.

I have done some more research being that i only imported the body i didnt get a title. I have been able to find what we think is the original engine number. If it is correct it makes mine a late 1923 coup. My engine number 7808119. As the coups didnt change from late 23 to late 25 that would put mi...
