I particularly like the logo on the old metal cans, I'm sad to see it in plastic bottles. :(

Re: '26 Touring refurb...

I built up a magnet height tool to help me get all the heights right. I started with a piece of steel tubing and parted off a bit to act as a stop. Looking for a good wishbone for my 1926 touring. The left arm is bent on mine nearly the whole length from ball to perch, the ball is also pretty worn so I'll be well off just looking for a better one...

Re: Boiled linseed oil for pickup box

Also when working with linseed oil, do not pile up used rags or put them in a bucket. They are easily combustible. I've always wondered about why that is... Is it the drying process that creates enough heat to combust? Makes me wonder why everything that is coated in linseed oil doesn't burst into ...

Re: Boiled linseed oil for pickup box

I've used it on gunstocks and an old Wurlitzer crate I wanted to preserve, it definitely gives the wood some depth and darkens it up some. I had the best results wiping some on, letting it sit 5 minutes and then wiping the excess off. I'd let it dry 24 hours and then repeat until I built up the fini...

Nice work. It is satisfying when you can undo a cobbled together repair that didn't really work and replace it with a solid original part. Thanks! My favorite part of restoration is putting things right : Now I'm not sure if that's the correct switch for a '26 but I figured being able to take it ap...

Had some time today to work on the T so I tackled the starter switch. The one in the car was modified to make a new switch fit the old base. I picked up an original to replace it. After disassembly I discovered the tabs on the sheet metal shaft were missing or bent so I bumped them back down and tac...

My Marvel 9A cuts on the pull, teeth on the blade face towards the back of the saw. The manual states this is correct for that saw.

Jason while not cheap, new drums are gorgeous and I personally feel they are a great value. You can send the mfg your assembly to have the drum shaft removed and have it riveted onto a brand new drum. This will keep your low drum bushing matched to the brake drum as these more often than not are no...

Why did you take it down? Was the clutch mis-operating? If it was working OK you could just put it back together and leave it as is.
