Re: Magneto contact

Just remember, the magneto puts out AC voltage. Make sure your test equipment is set for AC voltage between 0 and 10 to check idle voltage which should be around 6 to 8 volts AC, ... Mid-throttle engine speed should give you 25 volts AC.

Has the clutch lever bolt been adjusted so that the transmission goes in neutral when the parking brake lever is pulled vertical for neutral?

The early supplier of those nylon gears was a big problem all unto itself. The manufactured gears after that were made better and held up like mine with no problems.

Re: Pouring Tar in coils!!

Very good question.. I never used a thermometer on the tar.. I would heat slow, occasionally stirring and when in a liquid state stir more until small bubbles may come up slowly and smoke a little. Stir a little more and notice the thinner viscosity and then pour the waiting coil boxes and top off. ...

Re: Pouring Tar in coils!!

Steep Type3 roofing tar ... Is what I use. ....For most of us, it's best to contact the local company that does commercial roof replacements to purchase at least 5 lb. . instead of buying from major suppliers a 100 lb block

The cover on our '26 runabout is made of multiple strips of wood with two metal strips screwed in holding everything together.

Re: New problem with my 22, looking for some advice

Every time you change a timer, the initial timing has to be reset... Which means the pull rod either has to be lengthened or shortened according to basic timer position....... Also every timer needs a little lubrication,.. looks like the one you pictured was running dry and had flaky metal drop into...

As a new Forum member, wouldn't hurt to have them all checked. Common faults..... capacitor leaks, coil points wear, lose calibration ,and get stuck with debris.
