The first photo is very nice. Which car would you take if offered? I would take the 1911 over the mustang. You can go to a Ford dealer and order a new mustang, but try to order a 1911 Torpedo. ( I did order a new mustang once, back in 1965)

This is an excellent looking meter, solid with original flat dark gray finish. The thermometer is just for looks. The bottom end of the thermeomter tube is missing, but that does not effect the looks of the meter. The face plate is original not not common.

A Model F would be nice, say a 1904 with a rear seat unit.. A 2 cylinder auto with a strong engine over the Model A, similar to the AC engine, I assume. Not as many around as the NRS series. Eligible for the one and two cylinder tours. Anything 1904 or older are in a special class.

longest time for original owner for a Ford

What model year would the Ford be for the longest owned by the original owner? I would 1940 , but perhaps 1946.

Re: On this date in 1914

The $5 day wage by Ford was a hiring ploy. Ford got to chose from the 10 thousand applicants the very best workers. With the best skillful Ford could speed up the assembly line with less mistakes on assembly. The Ford company made more profit by paying a higher wage.

Re: Got lucky!!

You do not need to take the fully off. Loosen the nut on the bolt that has the gen tight and slip the old belt off and the new one on. Pull the gen down and the belt will be tight. tighten the nut.

Ford River Rouge

The Rouge never built complete Model Ts, but it did make nearly every part that went into them. The parts were shipped back to Ford's Highland Park plant for assembly into finished cars. Not until the Model A, introduced in 1927, were cars fully built at the Rouge. I found this information on the He...
