Should be more than strong enough for a T. I’d suggest at least 2x8’s (less flexing).
As soon as the deck starts to show drying, reseal it with something like Thompson Waterseal.

Is there a proper method to protect a 6v generator/cutout without a battery connected ? I’m thinking if it is just an open circuit, the generator may take a hit.
Can the output of the cutout be grounded, or a load placed in line ?

When you do mount that tool box, leave a gap under it so it can be flushed out, and dried out, or you will naturally get rust between the two parts.

Find someone in your area who does ‘Dustless Blasting’. No heat, no warping, and a preservative to prevent rust til you get it primed. Looks like there may be a couple in your area. Well worth it.

Sounds like you need to balance your air bleeder with your idle and hi-speed jets, based on the state of the carb fuel passages. Just need to find the right balance.

Not familiar with thermocure, but EvapoRust does work reasonably well with deep seated rust. You do need to agitate it occasionally and drain the sludge out of the lower areas, as it works. The Mack is a 471 cid (5x6)

I tried to clear coat the polished carb, but after a year of running it, the heat and gas have pretty well returned it to what it was before cleaning it. Oh, well, it runs !

Aren’t those Stromberg M- series carbs great ? What did you do to preserve the shine on the carb long term ?

Just use their solvent, and make sure the surface is clean. After it sets, you can grind, file, drill, mill, or machine it any way you desire.
Works great for key ways, hollowed out holes, etc.

Agreed, I believe this forum assumes the photo was taken in landscape mode(wide), not portrait, which is also better to view on a phone or tablet when turned sideways, or on a screen.
