Get one of those cloth or plastic sewing tapes. Set the fan pulley as close as possible and measure around the pulleys. The parts suppliers will give you a range the belt is good for. Re: '26 Coupe Trunklid fitment issues
I would build a rectangular frame out of 4” x 4” beams wide enough for the lid to slide in and maybe 20” tall. It should have horizontal feet that will allow it to stand upright. It should be tall enough for a bottle jack, a straight board the width of the trunk and a couple of blocks under each cor...

Re: Ford building lost
That is like destroying pictures, documents and memorabilia of deceased family members that tell the story of one’s family. Ford should have bought the building and moved it to Greenfield Village since it was such a big part of the Ford story. They could have recreated how it looked and how the asse...

Re: Hickory Floorboard
I can’t find my camera but I found several pictures online of the 1926/‘27 floorboard hold downs. There is one on each side at the edge of the floorboard that, when turned, one edge goes over the edge of the floorboard and holds it down and keeps it from coming up from the wind blowing underneath. J...

Re: Hickory Floorboard
I could be mistaken and anybody correct me if I’m wrong, but, I believe 3/4” is slightly too thick for the clamps on each side to hold the floor down. I made my floor a long time ago for my 1926 coupe and I seem to recall that I had to plane down the edges so the clamps would twist over the flooring...

I agree a 2 part epoxy like JB Weld would cure from the inside out, but, if for some reason, I am unable to salvage the faucet and need to install a new faucet, JB Weld would be almost impossible to remove. Exactly, Gene. The clamps, fittings and hose ends are fully encased in the Right Stuff. What you said is encouraging. When I went out to take the pictures at about 11:00pm, the mound of the Right Stuff I packed around the bundle of hoses, was very firm. I applied it around 5:00pm this afternoon so i...

My wife has become attached to an obsolete kitchen faucet that is no longer made and I am trying to salvage it for her to use another 20 years. I am intending to seal a hole with “The Right Stuff”. When I was restoring a Reginaphone music box, the lid required a varnish transfer decal. I messed up two before using the third to make a stencil that I used to paint on the design. Re: Anyone remember building one of these as a boy?
The original price of the old models from the 60’s can be found on the ends of the box. Price was usually around $1.49. An afternoon of mowing and yard work usually provided me with enough to afford one. Now, some of them go for over $100.00 depending on their condition and rarity. The original 1966...

Re: Can we bypass aux. water pump?
The answer to his question is yes. Remove the water pump and install the original metal pipe from the bottom of the radiator to the water inlet and install the old fan belt to see what it does. If your radiator is good, it will cool the engine through the thermo-siphon system without a water pump. T...

Many of us, including me, are also interested in old crank wind, outside horn Victor and Edison phonographs, Polyphon disc Music boxes, and antique clocks. Maybe it is because they are all wound by cranks and keys or remind us of a less complicated era in America. Model T’s were manufactured for a l...

Re: Old Photo - Fleet of Ford Model T cabs lined up for inspection at a garage under the Brooklyn bridge 1922.
With room enough for just one passenger, I don’t think they are cabs, but they do appear to be some sort of fleet for parcel or dispatch drivers. I would wager the license plates are very similar. I see the first one ends in 404, the next one, 407 and the rest are probably 40 something. A great phot...

If the wood is solid, just prime with a good exterior oil based primer such is sold by Sherwin Williams and paint with a good exterior enamel in the color of your choice, however, if the wood is soft, or dry rotted, there is no saving them, for wheels are load bearing and must be solid and as strong...

Excellent research, Frank! From your pictures, it looks as if the spokes and rims are the same color as the body. Very helpful.
