When I'm not playing with old cars I do have other interests. Re: OT - Adventures of Kalamity Dick - Fact or Fiction?

The skinny guy back by the train looks like Farmsnaggle Grumpworth, well known around the Chugwater area as one of the best badminton players in the northwest quadrant. Those were the days when badminton was played with live parakeets for the birds. He was later discredited for using goldfinches in ...

As the "Police advisor" of our car club used to say back in the 1960s, "it's not illegal, it's unlawful, illegal is a sick bird".

Just think, with 300 gallons of fuel you could drive it across the country and probably only need one fuel stop. Pack a bag and fill a cooler with drinks, adventure is calling.

Re: Why Do You Do it ?

Why? Because I'm getting older and realize that the slower, simpler ways of the past are a lot nicer to deal with than a rush hour rat race lifestyle. I'm retired, don't have to be anywhere "right now" and if I need to be someplace on time I can leave earlier and take the back roads and have a smile...

Well said Hank. I'll be turning 73 in a little over two weeks and have noticed that most of the younger folks aren't really interested in getting their hands dirty playing with old cars, but just when you are about to give up you will find some kid who is really interested in the "time travel" aspec...

That picture was taken just after the Chugwater Valley Rent-A-Seance Pleasure Faire, Parakeet Races and Washtub Olympics. The crew was well lubricated on Happy Sally and well padded with the Budgerigar feathers. History shows that they got through the whole weekend without any serious injuries, but ...

That looks like Shirley's sister Esmeralda sitting at the far end of the bar. I remember that she could cause the best of men to get spiffed. Don't know about that leg in the foreground, but it may belong to her cousin Gigabella, (Giggy for short). From the little memory I have left these days I bel...

Ahh, the beauty of the old filling station. Part of the fun to be had there was in the use of the lovely diving platform along side of the porch roof. Would have been more fun had they only added the pool that was on the original plans for the place. They tried backing the TT up to the porch and fil...

I vote for the Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and a Guinness. Seems like everything that is done to "save us" ends up causing more problems than it fixes. Personally I like kerosene lamps to light the home, but they probably contribute to harming the ozone layer.

We wake up to the mating calls of the two legged cat. Our neighbors out west from our place have a whole herd of the things. I drove up to the lodge on Mount Hood back in 1976 when I was up in McMinnville with the company I worked for at the time. If I remember right it was in June and there was still quite a bit of snow. Beautiful place. Seems like it would be much more fun in a Model T then in the car we had rented.

Re: Stock Ford Part Puzzle

Hasn't changed after all these years. The factories still look at two cent parts that can be done away with to save a eight cents per car. It adds up over the number of cars they build each year. It would almost make sense if not for the fact that they will replace a simple push pull cable to open a...
