Re: WTB Lamp socket for rear light

Would you be able to modify one of these sockets to fit your need?

John,
I no longer have Seth's phone number. I sent him an email, but it "bounced" - undeliverable - bad address. Sorry. Dave

Re: Banned Members

Joe, Seth & I communicated a few times off Forum about electrical issues. In one of those "conversations", I did ask him why he wasn't posting anymore, as I really enjoyed learning from him. (I believer he was an engineer of some sort with one of the small engine manufacturers - maybe Briggs & Strat...

Re: touring in a 1922 centerdoor

Mine had a standard rear (no Ruxtell). My Centerdoor was HEAVY - I think that all of them are. Start adding passengers, and you will find that you are the slowest in the tour. RIde was "so-so"...a bit "tippy" though..it is top heavy compared to other models.
Others may have had different experiences.

Thanks Bill.

A neighbor friend is knowledgeable concerning electrons and all those other mysterious things. I'll ask him....or maybe Carl G. can visit someday and figure things out with me.

Be well, my friend...hope to see you in Hooksett next month.

Re: tail light electrification

Digging deeper raises another question, but first, some explanation. I have a non-starter 1915 which apparently was equipped with mag lights...headlights and taillight, which also illuminated the license plate (clear lens on the side of the lamp). Light control is by a pair of push button - NOT 'PUS...

Re: tail light electrification

Thanks Frank.... admittedly, I am challenged by the mysterious forces of electricity...but stubborn, and want to learn. (Dangerous, I know). Where do the relays (overrides) plug into the system? I have a two prong, 12 volt flasher - located under the rear seat, near the power source - unlike the ada...

Re: tail light electrification

Did you need to install any other device? What happens when you have the right turn signal blinking, at night with tail lights illuminated, and you step on the brake to slow down for the turn? I am curious how those 3 input wires go into a two filament socket. Electricity is a mysterious force for m...

Re: tail light electrification

I get the dreaded yellow triangle, and this message:

The image must be at least 0 pixels wide, 0 pixels high and at most 1200 pixels wide and 768 pixels high. The submitted image is 675 pixels wide and 1200 pixels high.

Any thoughts as to how to post a picture with no pixels? :D

Frank, Thanks very much for your diagrams/pictures. I already have a three wire socket in the lampo fixture....works brake light and directional. I want another light - a running light, if you will. tail light electrification

There used to be a product sold that allowed the insertion of an electric bulb into the oil taillight without any modifications. The device was simply a snap ring with a bulb socket soldered to it, and the ring sat just inside the open lens cover. (Yes, wiring to a power source was necessary). I bou...

Re: Parade Driving

If you do not have an auxiliary transmission, find a spot in the middle of the parade route, and park the car there and let the onlookers take their time looking at your vehicle and answer their many questions for them. Alternatively, use the hand brake lever to put the transmission in neutral, and ...

Re: Transmission binds when starting cold?

After you have driven the car, and parked it, and turned the engine off, do you leave the handbrake on, or do do push the handbrake fully forward, thus "putting it into high gear" until you go to start it another day?

Bob, WOW.... I know that things are expensive out "west", but those prices are obscene. Re: Blockley inner tube purchase - report

Allan, With all due respect re: flaps vs. rim liners....with a clincher, the tube will be pinched between the tire beads (walls) long before it can possibly contact the rim liner. The flap keeps the tube within the confines of the tire. Now, with a different tire, a rim liner may suffice, but not wi...
