Re: 26/27 rear wheel drum rubbing
Could be wear inside the hub causing the hub/drum to slide on to the axle too far and rubbing on the brake shoes or seal. Try one of the axle shims for the tapered part of the axle / hub to see if anything changes.

500 ml is 16oz in less than 2 minutes. That’s a gallon in 16 minutes. My T gets 18mpg at 35+ mph at a little over 2 gallons per hour. So you should be getting plenty of fuel at your current flow rate.

I don’t use a paper gasket on the housing halves. Only use ultra-black on those. That way you can bolt stuff together to get clearances set correctly then add the sealer when done. There is a gasket for the ruckstell shifter and I’ve always used those. I’m not sure what happened with your ujoint pin.

The coolant is coming Out of the radiator and running through the pipe to the block. The coolant should already have the heat removed at that point. If it doesn’t, then your radiator isn’t removing heat from the coolant and dissipating it to the air passing through the tubes and fins of the radiator...

Not sure I buy the catalytic converter part. Most newer cars have spark plugs that you can’t get to and coils mounted direct to the plug. Also most people today would be incapable of hooking one up. Probably not enough demand.

Mark, your picture is the main jet (or spray nozzle). The mixture screw is sometimes referred to as the spray needle. The correct reference to “needle and seat” refers to the valve parts that control the maximum amount of fuel that can enter the carb controlled by the float.

Re: Model T Auction September 2, 2019
Stan, you’re last paragraph pretty much sums it up and you absolutely right. Only thing we don’t have going on in Indiana is anything close to a harvest. Most the corn and beans didn’t get planted until late June early July due to all the rain we’ve had.

Re: Model T Auction September 2, 2019
Once again I’m not getting Anything out of this sale, so stay home if you’re worried about the buyers premium. In central Indiana 10% seems the going rate for buyers premium but a couple places I go is 13% or higher. I factor that in when I’m bidding. In Indiana the sales tax is 7%. So some of these...

Mulberry is a very small town as already referenced. Parking will be available at 3-4 churches within a few blocks of the auction site. There is also a bank and other places available to park since most businesses will be closed for the holiday. There will be a lot of street parking as well.

Re: FS: 23-25 Roadster Body Wood Kit
I'm not sure where I came up with the original price for this kit. I must have looked at a coupe kit price instead. $750.00 for this complete Fordwood 23-25 Roadster wood kit. Can send pics if needed.

The valve in the picture is the 2 piece valve that needs replaced. Need to replace all the valves and grind the seats. Can be done in the car.

I never use anything. My T has sat in the trailer since last October. Pulled it up to a tour this weekend and it started right up and ran fine. I did top off the tires with air before leaving.
I’ve had boats, antique tractors and engines which never had any issues either.

Thanks Bob, I wish you were closer. Thanks to everyone else too. All of this is good stuff to consider.
Regarding the lacquer paint, how does it hold up to UV and being outdoors? This car is one that will be a driver, but I want it to look nice and hold up.

I wasn’t sure if the HVLP spray mixtures had to be mixed differently or not. I appreciate everyone’s input. Thanks.

Best Black Paint For Painting a T?
I’ve got a 24 Fordor restoration that is nearing completion to where it’s going to need paint soon. Just curious if there are any suggestions regarding a user friendly paint to use? HVLP or regular spray gun? Something that can be done in the garage?

Re: Replacing a Valve
Will, I’ve done it. #4 cylinder can be a challenge but can be done regarding grinding the seats. If you’re putting in new valves I’d grind the seats. Replacing 1 valve will be a temporary repair as they probably are the 2 peice and others will fail. You need to find a buddy with a seat cutter or buy...

Re: How do you drill an un-drillable hole ????
Before you get carried away and spend a lot of unnecessary money, go to Harbor Freight. They sell a set of Glass Drills for $10 that are sharp carbide tipped drill bits. I used them to drill out a broken off easy out in an Isuzu glow plug recently.

Rich, definitely no straight peices. Not a job for the meek.
Luckily I had decent enough old pieces from the original structure to measure and make the Fordwood kit to the same dinensions.

Fordor Roof Dimensions Needed
I’m in process of putting a new wood kit in a 24 Fordor body. Overall it’s coming along well. The old roof wood was in pretty bad shape and not really measurable the way the other parts were. I need the outside width dimensions of the roof. Front back and middle, as that will get me an idea if I’m i...

Re: FJ - Is this tire repairable ?
Anything more than 1” from the tread edge can be plugged AND must be patched from the inside as well. There is too much rubber movement at the tread edge for repairs to hold. I’m in the trucking industry and punctures more than a 1/4” in diameter and in the outer 1” area must be section repaired. Se...
