Steve, you are absolutely right regarding that FB 1914. From the limited pictures I do see it has a riveted rear end, a non starter engine and looks like right carbide lights and coil box but am no expert. Norman, The looseness seemed to be excessive to me front to back, you could really clack them back in forth by hand. When I torqued down with the plastic gage all seemed to spec. Update, I pulled the rod caps and plastic gaged and got about .001”. Re Torqued caps and closed it up. Ran the heck out of her and then let it run at idle for a few minutes. No knocks detected at all just purred at idle. Now if I can get my steering squared away.

Yes the old one is in the rear with wear on ball.
I did a test run with new pitman arm. It’s tighter but to me the steering seems more touchy or sensitive to wheel. I am going to check wheel alignment. Geez how many different pitman arm style were made!

Norman, The new one is actually at a steeper angle and shorter.

I was going to change out my original pitman arm with a repo to eliminate some slop. Placing side by side the new one is 1/2” closer to center of shaft and 1/2” out further to front of car. Ordered one for my year 1920 should I use?

Scott, I will have to try shorting 2 & 3 when I button her back up.
For what it’s worth the oil is very clean no sign of metallic fragments or flecks. Bad main bearing would definitely be a bummer! Thanks

This one was buried out in woods for many years. The bottom 3 inches or so are rotted. About three years ago my neighbor put on pallet on his farm. Yesterday finally picked it up. It was a what I call the 23/25 variety touring.

More specifically I believe the seat frame is for a ‘30 - ‘31 Tudor.
The earlier Tudor frames like ‘28’s had some cast or forged pieces. Not sure exactly when they switched to stamping.

Hi Allan, In this case I use trolling to mean like trolling for northern (fish) on my lake. Not the sneaky little Guy under a bridge. Trawler would work if you use a bigger boat. To John Kuehn, yes the wood armrest is notched and goes over the top iron support. Two short carriage bolts go thru the tack strip and body panel to fasten.
