Actually, any competent muffler shop should be able to manufacture you a suitable header.

For those using an OHV, what clutch do you use?
I run a RAJO BB head in my centerdoor. Recently, when going up steep hills, I can feel the clutch slip when I really give it the gas. If I back-off a little, the slipping stops. The car is due for a 10-year engine breakdown/check, so I would like some advice from those of you who run an OHV in your ...

Re: Tony Bowker Celebration Of Life Is June 4th, 2023
Well said, Norm. I knew Tony for over 40 years. He was a long and dear friend. We shared many great times together. A true loss to the hobby and all those that knew him. Happy motoring, mate!

I first met Tony when I joined the Model T Club of San Diego back in the mid 80's. He was the first person to welcome me into the club. He, along with Lee Pierce, were my mentors and dear friends. Now both are gone. My memory of Tony will always be of times we shared working on T's, organizing tours...

Re: New Battery
All batteries have standard sizes. There is one 12 volt battery that very close to those 6 Volt dimensions. What most people don't realize is that 12 volt battery has six more cell walls and three more cell partitions. Tha situation results in far fewer internal plates that make the electricity. Th...

Recommended 12V battery - not an Optima
I need a new 12V battery for my T. The current Optima red top lasted only four years. I'm very disappointed in it. The previous one lasted almost ten! I'm looking for another brand that is cheaper. I'll entertain all types. Thanks.

Distance plate! What distance plate?
When the transmission in my 22 was rebuilt, we used the best of several transmissions lying around the garage. We had enough good parts to complete the rebuild. We also installed a new Watts clutch. We put it all back together and the car was back on the road. However, several months later when sort...

Re: Adjusting headlights
Thanks for all the advice. I ended using an old 30 inch pipe wrench to adjust the headlights. I was able to get enough leverage to bend the bracket. I did end up with a couple of tiny paint scratches that were easily covered up with touch-up paint.

Adjusting headlights
I need to adjust my headlights upward. When using a plumb bob, they are about 1/4 out of adjustment. I know there is some special tool that Ford created to do bend that thick bar, but I don't have one. What have other done to adjust their headlights (up or down - not left/right) Thanks.

I did the same as Hank. Had a local hot rod metal shop put recess in metal firewall. Looks really professional and almost "factory". I run a dizzy, so coils removed leaving more room for recess.

Trials, Tribulations and Triumph in the speedometer world
Several years ago I purchased a Stewart-Warner 160 speedometer for my Model T. The unit was in great shape and installation was straightforward. After awhile the speedometer dial would not register past 5 – 10 mph no matter how fast I was traveling. I sent it off to Russ Furstnow who went through th...

Thanks guys!! I used all your tips to make it an easy fix: Rocked the wheels to horizontal alignment, used bottle jack to move ball to correct height and used ratchet tow ropes to gently move ball into position!! Thanks again!!!

Wishbone reconect problem.
I just adjusted my rod beatings. I removed the inspection cover on a 4-dip pan which necessitated disconnecting the wishbone ball socket. When putting it all back together, the ball socket does not line up with the pan. It is about 3/8 of an inch off. Is this normal? Is there some type of trick to g...

Thanks Will! The seat back had that hook but the slot on the rear window frame was missing. It must have got lost during the restoration. Centerdoor question
Is the rear seat back cushion secured to the body in any way? I noticed that it does take much force for it to tip forward. I have not seen any hooks/brackets on the wood frame to which the springs/upholstery is attached.
Thanks,
Dave

I spent all day Friday walking around and managed to find some much need T parts: steering wheel, head light rim and lenses. All for decent prices! I also had a chance to meet and greet on of my all-time heroes in the custom car world: Gene Winfield. It was a pleasant and enjoyable day!

Re: Firewall welting installation problem
Thanks for all your ideas. Since this is a one-time installation, I opted out of paying $20+ for the pliers Langs sells. Mark, I followed you and used a pneumatic pop rivet gun to secure the welting - easy to install and nice and snug!!!
Thanks again...

I'm trying to install the welting that goes on the firewall. I have a metal firewall and I'm supposed to use small brass rivets to secure it. I'm having trouble getting the rivets to fit tightly. Is there a trick to this? Thanks.

Thanks for the very useful tips. I was able to find an assortment of torsion springs at the local ACE hardware store. Using one of those and some plastic shims, I was able to repair the latch!
