The mounting brackets were universal, same ones for all brands. The differences would be getting the correct ones for the year. The side/cowl lamps with the brackets attached came some time in 1914.

Plugs are cheap really, so play around with them and see which works best. But word of advice, my opinion (others have seen it too); if you are running coils look for plugs with no "R" in the number. The resistors don't seem to like the huge swings in current/voltage esp. if running the magneto.

Not aware of Bennett using anything other than the stock drum? The equalizer sold by the dealers for converting 26/27 internal brakes to pedal operated brakes should work. Just in case, so everyone is on the same page, are these for small or large drum or TT trucks?

For Miller at least; the touring and roadster re-wooding plans are a generalization and need fitting, not cut and put the body together. Re: Members Only Forum

I am 84. I sold my last T a TT a year or two ago. I was a member for a number of years but not since I sold the truck. I do so enjoy looking at the forum but does this mean I must pay to do this ? Seems a steep price for my few minutes of dayly enjoyment. Gordon Clayton Reading some of the posts th...

Wanted Bosch sidedrive magneto cover plate

Anyone have an extra Bosch gear front cover plate laying around that would be for sale? I just got the case that holds the gears, gears and magneto mounting tray (goes where the generator would go) but is missing the front cover.
Thanks

Re: WANTED Right hand drive hogshead for a starter

The brake and reverse should be but not sure about the low pedal being the same between starter and nonstarter cars but would imagine they would be. Would not have had to deal with the bendix cover. I did work on a car that owner installed righthand drive with starter. He had bought the car as a nee...

Be sure to get the pedals, they are not the same as lefthand drive cars. Think there might be some differences with the pedal shafts too.

Re: What have you done to/with your Model T in October?

Put antifreeze in the T and ran it for the first time in about 2 months. Big house project going on so it's on the back burner for a while. Had put the VW carb back on along with the Boach distributor, rev'ing it actually rocked the car! :) The radiator I found on eBay with the newer core, no drips ...

Re: Oil flow indicator

I remove my oil fill cap and rev the engine some. If I see oil spray hitting the cover I figure that oil is getting thru the tube. While this works with the original spoked gear, need to test with the solid type.

Re: 1924 tie-rod yoke dimension

Welcome to the Model T world! Personally, I would not worry about a 3/16 inch gap but if you are, could add an 1/8-inch steel or brass thrust washer. Most have worn some over the years but that little amount of wear should not hurt anything. What is more important is the condition of the pins and bu...

You have it routed in the correct location but might be hitting the water pipe. Maybe reshape it and reset the timing as needed.

Re: 1914 Engine Questions

If you don't use adjustable lifters, you have to set the valve clearance by grinding some length off of the valve stem, (and not by just holding the stem in your hand and using a bench grinder) . You can't just drop in new valves and expect the correct clearance. Having the cupped lifters, as you d...

Depending on how steady your hand is, it should. BUT! It would be helped by a plug that is installed in the valve seat hole and held in place with a clamp. I would after reaming the holes, recut the seat and make sure the valve seats 360.

The low head would require shorter head bolts. Weren't the earlier head bolts smaller than the later ones?
Only very early like 1909/09 (3/8"?) then were standardized to 7/16". Length was changed when the high head came out.

Well there is a way, sounds a bit funky but it would be worth a try. Plug the drain holes in the valve chamber make sure all the trans cover is in place and tight. Now hook your shop vac up to the oil fill hole and seal around it. Using a more liquid type of sealer such as Indian Head gasket shellac...

For the rollers you want ones that do not have loose cages and have a roller diameter of .498 to .500 at both ends. Some of the replacement sleeves are a little thicker so you could get by with a bit smaller on the roller diameter, but only maybe .001-.002 smaller. The sleeves should be smooth witho...
